On February 11, a unique international event dedicated to the Day of the Star — the 83rd anniversary of the birth of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il — was held at the Sergiev Posad Socio-Economic College. The event was attended by students and local deputies, as well as senior officials of the DPRK International Solidarity Group from Russia, Tajikistan, the USA and Canada.

The organizers were activists of the Russian-Korean Friendship Club under the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK (part of the DPRK ISG) and the Movement of the "First"

The hosts were the Club activists Arina Kislenkova and Marianna Ryzhova.

The respected Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG and Chairman of the International Preparatory Committee for the Day of the Star, personally took part in the event.

The guests of honor of the event were comrades Rita Tikhomirova (Chairman of the Council of Deputies of the Sergiev Posad Urban District), Maria Dine (Director of the Elizaveta Mamontova Center), Don Cowter (activist of the North American Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG and correspondent of the delegation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the DPRK), Murodbek Yuldoshev (Acting Chairman of the Komsomol of Tajikistan and Ideological Leader of the Tajik Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG).

The grand opening began with the performance of the anthem of the Russian Federation. Then Georgy Dmitriev, Candidate for Membership in the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG and Head of the Russian-Korean Friendship Club, greeted all those gathered.

Activist Vadim Averin continued the event by presenting historical information about the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il. This allowed the participants to better understand the context and significance of the events being discussed.

He said:

"As is known, Kim Jong Il was born in the Paektu secret camp. Thus, the first years of his life passed in the difficult conditions of the anti-Japanese revolution, and his youth fell on the anti-American war and post-war reconstruction. This tempered his character and raised him to be a true leader, inextricably linked with the people."

Exemplary activist Marianna Ryzhova surprised everyone with her presentation "Difficult March", revealing the truth about the truth about the contribution of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il to overcoming the most difficult period of trials in the history of the DPRK. She praised that under the leadership of the leader, the Korean people overcame the collapse of the world socialist system and strengthened the sovereign economy without taxes, the superiority of which is especially obvious to progressive people of the world today.

Activists Konstantin Baranov and Yaroslav Medvedev, under the leadership of Comrade Alena Svetova, spoke about the pilots of the USSR in the Korean War of 1950-1953. Special attention was paid to Sergey Kramarenko, Hero of the Soviet Union and one of the founders of our Russian organization.

Activists Ksenia Grekova and Ekaterina Belousova concluded their speeches with a presentation of new information cards "Why We Are Friends with the DPRK" and "Myths about the DPRK". This helped dispel many negative stereotypes and myths about Korea.

For example, they debunked myths about cruel punishments, the lack of restaurants and the ban on small businesses. They also paid special attention to positive facts from the reality of modern Korea:

— The Treaty of Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the DPRK of 2000 became possible thanks to Kim Jong Il and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

— More than 50 years ago, in 1974, the DPRK became the first country in the world to abolish the tax system. The Supreme People's Assembly adopted a law that rejected taxes as a relic of the old society and a form of class exploitation. Since then, the Republic celebrates Tax Abolition Day every April 1.

— In 2024, the WPK put forward the "20x10 Periphery Development Policy", which envisages the comprehensive modernization of local industrial enterprises.

— The DPRK is a successful sports power. In the past 2024 alone, the DPRK has won victories in football, weightlifting and taekwondo on the international stage. For example, DPRK athletes recently won the Women's World Cup.

Comrade Alexander Mostov gave the closing speech, sharing stories about the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il and his selfless work for the benefit of the people of the DPRK. He also emphasized the following.

"The Model Club of Russian-Korean Friendship with the DPRK, thanks to the energetic work of Comrade Dmitriev, has become a magnificent forge of people's diplomats in just one year. In addition, the humanitarian direction deserves special attention: we pay deep attention to the positive feedback from Russian anti-fascist soldiers using equipment manufactured by the humanitarian direction of the Club. The Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG will continue to pay special attention to the Friendship Club with the DPRK in Sergiev Posad in order to raise the red banner of international solidarity even higher."

He read out a congratulatory telegram addressed to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Comrade Kim Jong Il went down in history as a brilliant strategist and a great commander who strengthened the country's defense capability in the most difficult international situation. He mechanized key industries and forged a "nuclear shield", creating a powerful base for protecting the sovereignty of the state and the gains of the revolution - there is no end to his achievements for the benefit of the people!

It can be said that the DPRK has gone through the difficult times of the "arduous march" and raised the banner of socialism even higher thanks to the leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il. And today, his eternal political life is especially important for progressive people of the world who strive for justice. Considering the scientific works he wrote as an incentive for the development of socialist thought and the strengthening of international solidarity, our activists are working hard to expose anti-republican and anti-communist fakes, promoting a scientific understanding of the DPRK among young people in opposition to the subversive activities of hostile forces.

We clearly see that the DPRK is a truly people's socialist state, an example of true sovereignty and democracy. Under your proven leadership, the country continues to achieve new successes, welcoming the dawn of communism.

I am convinced that your devotion to the people and faith in socialism are the key to the prosperous future of the DPRK and all progressive humanity!

Taking this opportunity, on behalf of all the executive and regional committees of our organization, I express my support for the decisions of the 2018 Expanded Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), which exposed the perpetrators of anti-people crimes. The extensive fight against anti-socialist phenomena, bureaucracy and careerism is an example for all countries, demonstrating the vitality of the WPK's course and its ability to self-criticize.

I wish you, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, good health, energy and success in your activities for the prosperity of the DPRK and the well-being of its people. May your leadership continue to lead the country to new achievements.

Today we have gathered here to celebrate an important date - the Day of the Shining Star, the 83rd anniversary of the birth of the great leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Comrade Kim Jong Il. This is not just a date on the calendar - this is a day of remembrance for a man who dedicated his life to the cause of independence, socialism and the struggle against imperialist oppression.

Comrade Kim Jong Il continued the work of the great Kim Il Sung, strengthened the statehood of the DPRK, made it a stronghold of resistance to world capitalism and inspired millions of people to fight for justice. He was a true revolutionary, unbroken in his commitment to the ideas of Juche and the concept of Songun - military priority. Under his leadership, the DPRK preserved its socialist path, despite sanctions, pressure and threats from the imperialist powers.

On this day, we, the communist youth of Tajikistan, express our solidarity with the people of Korea, who continue to follow the path of independence and socialist construction. The historical experience of the DPRK shows us that even a small state, if it is united, devoted to its ideals and relies on its own strength, is capable of giving a worthy rebuff to external pressure.

Today, when the world is facing new challenges, when neo-Nazi ideologies are raising their heads, we see how Russia is once again standing at the forefront of the struggle for justice. Today, the Russian people, continuing the glorious traditions of their ancestors, are resisting the onslaught of aggressive forces trying to rewrite history, justify collaborationism and denigrate the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The Kremlin's policy is firmly aimed at protecting historical truth, fighting against Western colonialism and the imposed world order, where fascism is cultivated under new slogans. Russia today is an example of unbending resistance, the center of a multipolar world where justice, independence and respect for national sovereignty are valued.

We, the communist youth of Tajikistan, express our full support for Russia's struggle against neo-Nazism, against the distortion of history, against attempts to destroy the legacy of the Great Victory. This struggle concerns each of us, because the memory of the exploits of Soviet soldiers who saved the world from fascism is not just the pages of textbooks, it is our blood, our history, our future.

Comrades!

The Day of the Shining Star is not just a day of remembrance, it is a symbol of the struggle for independence, for the right of peoples to decide their own destiny. Let the spirit of Kim Jong Il inspire us to new achievements, to strengthen the friendship between our peoples, to continue the great cause of socialism.

Long live the friendship of peoples fighting against imperialism!

Long live Russia - a country that is once again raising the banner of the fight against neo-Nazism! "

Comrade Don Cowter thanked the students for their interest and shared his experience, talking about Western propaganda that demonizes the image of the DPRK. He also shared with the students in detail his impressions of the visit to the DPRK as part of the presidential delegation.

The event ended with the performance of the song "Where does the Motherland Begin" by all the activists, which became a bright and emotional end to this significant day.
