Let Us Cultivate a More Thorough Anti-Imperialist Class Consciousness as the Generations Change and the Revolution Advances It Was Not a Hospital But a Human Slaughterhouse The history of US imperialist aggression against Korea, spanning a long period, is stained with bloody crimes that transcend human imagination. Among these are recorded horrifying murderous atrocities, where even in hospitals, whose mission is to treat human illness and save lives, the innocent lives of our people were taken by all kinds of vicious methods. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as follows: "The reality that the new generation, who have only heard about exploitation and oppression and have not experienced the trials of war, constitutes the main force of our revolutionary ranks demands that we further intensify class education." The US imperialists, who have long harbored ambitions of aggression against our country, massively brought in missionaries as guides for aggression after the conclusion of the "US-Korea Treaty." In the early 1900s, American missionaries under the signboard of "humanitarianism" also flocked to the Kaesong area. Shouting about "charity" and "philanthropy," they set up chapels everywhere and, while handing out Bibles written in our language to simple Koreans, schemed to implant ideas of sycophancy toward the great powers and slave submission. After some time, these scoundrels, under the pretense of "charity work," set up something called the "Namson Hospital" in a certain place in Kaesong. And they began to spread sweet words that at this hospital, excellent doctors would treat seriously ill patients for free and cure any disease. Poor and naive people, deceived by the scoundrels' lies, came to "Namson Hospital." However, what awaited them was by no means an excellent treatment room or operating theater, but a human experimentation laboratory set up to serve their sinister purposes. Among those who became the subjects of these scoundrels' human experiments and suffered a living hell was a maiden named Pak Gwi-jom. Suffering from severe hunger, she ate spoiled food and got sick. Seeing her come with her mother, a director scoundrel named Anderson said he would admit her, pulled out some kind of "pledge," and forced her to sign it. It was a bandit-like document stating that the hospital would not take responsibility even if she died during "treatment," and that even in case of death, the body could not be claimed. But the illiterate maiden's mother knew nothing of this. That day, Anderson, who had put the maiden under general anesthesia and placed her on the operating table, his wife, and the trainee scoundrels, without any hesitation, conducted human dissection experiments for a long time. Having thus brutally taken the maiden's life, the scoundrel Anderson said it was an incurable disease and they could do nothing about it, and, afraid their crimes would be exposed, did not even return the body to the family. The scoundrels' crimes did not end there. The fact that a middle school student who went to "Namson Hospital" because his ear hurt became the subject of a slow-acting poison injection experiment and died after just 9 days; the fact that they diagnosed a patient with acute appendicitis as having stomach cancer and a maiden with pleurisy as having liver cancer, brutally taking their lives; the fact that they labeled a cold patient as an infectious disease patient and made them a subject for drug experiments – including these, the scoundrels' murderous atrocities continued here day after day. A survivor who went to get treatment for a wound on his leg but instead had the flesh and tendons of his leg viciously torn out and was permanently crippled later recalled that time as follows: "'Namson Hospital' director Anderson scoundrel set up a secret operating room in the basement under his office and took the lives of Koreans day after day. In the mortuary of 'Namson Hospital,' the bodies of people who had been tortured to death by that scoundrel piled up every day." The "Namson Hospital" set up by the Americans under the signboard of "charity" was not a place to save human lives but a human slaughterhouse where they killed people in the most cruel and miserable ways. These heinous murderous atrocities of US imperialism were by no means committed only in Kaesong. The American missionary scoundrel who operated the "Salvation Hospital" in Haeju not only admitted a pregnant woman, cut open her belly out of boredom, killing both the mother and the baby, but also drew blood from patients who couldn't pay treatment fees, causing them to die in agony. The missionary scoundrel who set up the "Jejung Hospital" in Jaeryong tied a paralyzed boy to a wooden bed in a special treatment room and, under the pretext of medical experiments, brutally slashed his limbs with a knife, committing a horrifying atrocity by killing him. It is because they are the descendants of such murderous demons that during the past Fatherland Liberation War, the US imperialist aggressors brutally massacred countless numbers of our people by the most brutal methods imaginable. Our people will never forget the crimes committed by US imperialism on this land, no matter how much time passes or generations change, and we will surely make them pay the price in blood. Pak Chun-geun Let Us Cultivate a More Thorough Anti-Imperialist Class Consciousness as the Generations Change and the Revolution Advances The Final Shout An ardent love for the fatherland gives birth to an unyielding belief that does not yield even in the face of death. We are reminded of this truth once again through the final moments of a woman who fought without yielding, preserving her revolutionary steadfastness to the end during the period of strategic temporary retreat in the last Fatherland Liberation War. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as follows: "Our great Fatherland Liberation War clearly showed what amazing miracles are created when simple and ordinary people step forward, defying death to protect what is theirs." Comrade Kang Chang Suk, a member of the Kuwol Mountain People's Guerrilla Unit, was unfortunately captured by the enemies while carrying out the organization's task of forming an underground organization and waging struggle in the Songhwa County area. The enemies raged like wild beasts, trying to make her submit. What did you do in the guerrilla unit? What mission did you receive when you came down from the mountain? Guide the US search party to where the guerrillas are. Despite the enemies' persistent interrogations and all kinds of atrocities, she was unyielding. The only words that came from her mouth were, "I don't know." Gazing at the moonlight seeping through the iron bars in the deep night, her thoughts grew deep. The face of her father, who, before liberation, couldn't even afford to go to a hospital and left this world full of bitterness at the young age of thirty, came to mind. How bone-deep must have been the hardships endured by her mother, who shouldered the lives of a family of nine, amid all sorts of humiliation and contempt. And then the light of rebirth also shone upon her family. The fatherland was liberated. After that, through an anti-Japanese fighter who was in the army, she heard in detail the legendary stories about the great Leader. Through that process, she engraved in her heart the truth that the fatherland is the bosom of the parent Leader, and that true life and happiness lie in the path of protecting and glorifying the fatherland, more precious than life itself.... The vicious torture continued. One day, the enemies prattled on, saying wasn't it a pity for someone her age, a talented person who was pretty, good at singing and sports, why would she seek out hardship; if she changed her mind even now, she could enjoy wealth and glory. But no sweet talk could break Comrade Kang Chang Suk's belief. Some time later, when the People's Army began to advance again, the enemies hurriedly dragged her to the execution ground. Facing her final moments, Comrade Kang Chang Suk shouted at the enemy scoundrels, putting force into every word. "You scoundrels, I die today, but the day of your ruin is not far off." In the last moment of her life, she loudly shouted, "Long live General Kim Il Sung!" She was 19 years old at that time. Her heroic struggle, fighting courageously without yielding despite the enemy's vicious torture and in the face of death, still deeply impresses upon our posterity how to uphold revolutionary belief. Photo by correspondent Kim Kwang Rim Condemnation of Western Plots to Maintain Dominance, Exposure of Japan's Historical Crimes Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently denounced Western plots to maintain dominance during a meeting with journalists from All-Russia State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company. He exposed that Western countries are doing everything to impose tariff wars on other countries through direct blackmail, pressure, and sanctions, to obstruct the process of forming a multipolar world, and to maintain a dominant position on the international stage. [Korean Central News Agency] Chaos and Crisis Caused by Civil Wars and Conflicts Wars, large and small, are breaking out incessantly all over the world. Not a few countries are struggling in the whirlpool of political chaos called civil war and armed conflict. Economies are in a state of collapse, and people are depending on international aid for survival or wandering on refugee roads. Haiti, located in the Caribbean, is one of them. For 4 years, this country has been in a de facto state of anarchy. In 2021, organized criminal groups assassinated the president and declared war on the government. Since then, the violence has escalated. In this country, parliamentary elections have not been held for a long time. Judicial institutions, including the Supreme Court, have been paralyzed for a long time. Many Haitians say that even if elections were held, they wouldn't know which candidate to support. Because if they vote wrong, they could lose their lives at the hands of armed gangs. Organized criminal groups are now running rampant as if they own the world. Looking just at the capital, most of it is controlled by these bandit groups. They often use kidnapping to get operating funds. Those who cannot pay the ransom must die. The people of this country lament that they feel as if they are carrying their own coffins on their backs. Many residents are desperately fleeing to less dangerous areas. In just three weeks in March of last year alone, over 53,000 people left the capital. In June last year, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that about 1.3 million people in Haiti had become internally displaced persons (IDPs). This is a 24% increase compared to December of the previous year. The Director General of the organization appealed for strengthened support for them, stating that children, women, and the elderly are being forced into a nomadic life. Although the international community has been working for years to end the vicious cycle of violence in this country, there has been no result. A multinational security support force is also deployed, but the situation still does not improve. The same is true in Sudan, Africa. Since the conflict began in 2023, numerous civilians have died in this country, and over 15 million people have become refugees. An armed clash in a city in the West Kordofan region in early May alone killed over 300 civilians in just two days. Among the dead were about 30 children and women. The conflict has led to a collapse of the health system, famine, and a humanitarian crisis reaching a serious level. In December last year, several UN agencies and humanitarian aid organizations published a report stating that famine is expanding in Sudan. It stated that about 24.6 million people, corresponding to half the population, are in a situation of severe food shortage. In April last year, UNICEF published data showing that serious violence against children, including killing and abduction, had increased more than 10-fold over two years in this country. Attacks on schools and hospitals also increased more than 5-fold. The Executive Director of UNICEF appealed for continuous support, stating that Sudan is facing a very severe humanitarian crisis globally today but is not receiving attention. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) counted the number of refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide at the end of 2024 as 123.2 million, with Sudan having the highest number by country. In Ethiopia, where bloody clashes are intensifying, the number of refugees also reaches 4.5 million. About 56% of them have been living a nomadic life for over a year, and 23% for 2-4 years. Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated that the health system in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is on the verge of collapse. Health facilities in this region, suffering from armed conflict, are absolutely short of essential medicines and medical equipment, making it impossible to treat even the most common diseases. According to a report by an international investigation group, last year globally, 8.34 million people were forced to flee within their own countries due to conflict, natural disasters, and climate change, a record high in history, of which about 90% were refugees due to conflict and violence. The plight of refugees in countries where conflict is intensifying is worsening day by day. Severe hunger, disease, and death follow them at every step. Their unfortunate situation is that they cannot live in their own land, nor can they live in another's land. Historically, these countries have been significantly affected by foreign aggression, interference in internal affairs, and maneuvers to impose "democracy." Broad international opinion strongly demands an end to the various conflicts that cause horrific disasters. Correspondent Ho Yong Min Common Sense Ways to Quickly Relieve Insomnia A Russian nutrition expert spoke about how to quickly relieve insomnia. According to him, first of all, people with insomnia should not drink coffee, energy-active drinks, or strong tea after 4 p.m. He said as follows: "Coffee, strong black or green tea, energy-active drinks, alcohol, nicotine, etc., have a negative impact on the nervous system and interfere with the process of falling into a deep sleep quickly. Instead, you can drink tea made from tangerine peel, chamomile, or motherwort." Also, reading a book in yellow lamp light 20-30 minutes before going to bed helps you fall asleep quickly. He mentioned that a heavy blanket helps some people and recommended that people sleep in a completely dark and quiet environment. The room should have fresh air and a temperature of 18-22°C, and the bed should be used only for sleeping, not for watching TV or working. Vigorous exercise after 7 p.m. also interferes with falling asleep. On the other hand, evening yoga, stretching, or walking in the fresh air have a positive effect on sleep. Strength training in the morning is also beneficial. He emphasized, "In the evening, use light that gives a warm feeling, not a cold one, and avoid watching movies that strongly evoke negative or positive emotions." [Korean Central News Agency] | |
