Heartening Wheat and Barley Harvest News Spreads Daily The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:
Amid nationwide struggle to achieve this year’s grain production goals, heartening news of bountiful wheat and barley harvests from all regions brings joy.
South Hwanghae Province Bountiful wheat and barley crops grace South Hwanghae’s fields. From the plains of Jaeryong and Yonbaek to mid-mountainous areas, bumper harvests have agricultural workers singing "Bumper Harvest Song" with joy as they reap. Upholding the Party’s grain production goal, provincial officials and agricultural workers fiercely fought to overcome adverse spring weather, achieving plentiful crops everywhere. Workers confidently state yields per chongbo (hectare) will far exceed last year’s. Jangyon County alone expects over 1 ton more per chongbo. Notably, Jaeryong County’s Samjigang Farm, Kangryong County’s Up Farm, and Yonan County’s Up Farm anticipate significant increases. The province vigorously pushes harvesting to swiftly conclude amid high zeal, concentrating all forces on reaping while ensuring full operation of the Party’s benevolently provided farm machines. Thousands of chongbo are harvested daily. The newly built Kangryong Flour Mill and upgraded Haeju Flour Mill actively ensure quality flour production. Counties prepare splendidly for food exhibitions.
South Phyongan Province Struggle rages vigorously across South Phyongan’s countryside to harvest wheat and barley without loss. Cultivated area significantly increased over last year; overall crop conditions are good. Provincial officials provide powerful command based on detailed field assessments, targeting swift harvest completion. From the 12,300-ri plain granary to mid-mountainous farms, fields seethe with harvest zeal. Having prioritized farm mechanization, the province ensures full operation of machines for reaping and threshing. Tens of thousands of provincial supporters assist daily, achieving 3–5 times more than before. Threshing workers also labor enthusiastically amid harvest joy. Amid rising daily threshing achievements—surpassing plans in Mundok, Pyongwon, and Jungsan counties—over 100 self-made mobile grain dryers prove effective. The province dries grain immediately after threshing to fulfill state procurement.
North Phyongan Province Harvesting began in cities and counties. Provincial Rural Economy Committee officials strengthen technical guidance through demonstrations and workshops, ensuring swift harvest completion and timely, high-quality second cropping. Countryside bustles with harvest. Ryongchon County farms, achieving high crop quality through intensive pre-harvest care, dynamically push reaping, threshing, and drying. Innovation flames also blaze in Jongju City, Yomju, and Taechon counties. Jongju City’s Ilhae Farm, Yomju County’s Naejung Farm, and Taechon County’s Unhung Farm reaped vast areas quickly and continue expanding successes. Other cities/counties like Sonchon, Kwaksan, Tongrim, and Kusong concentrate forces to accelerate harvesting while preparing for second cropping. Special Correspondent
- At Ryongchon Farm, Hwangju County - Recent Weather Characteristics and Rainy Front Movement According to the Hydro-Meteorological Service, below-average rainfall (47mm nationwide average) from mid-May to June 14 caused drought. Rains on June 15–16 and heavy downpours (95.7mm, near June’s average) on June 19–20, due to a strengthened Northwest Pacific subtropical high and a passing low-pressure system, fully alleviated drought. Since late June, the Northwest Pacific subtropical high—fundamentally influencing Korea’s summer weather—has gradually strengthened. The rainy front on its northern edge stretched east-west along Japan on June 23. This front will move northward, bringing Korea’s rainy season starting June 28. Between June 28–30, merging with a trough moving from China’s Hebei region, the year’s first monsoon rains will fall, mainly on the west coast. This year’s monsoon start (June 28) is 15 days earlier than average (July 13), attributed to higher-than-average sea temperatures west of the Northwest Pacific, causing earlier strengthening of the subtropical high influencing the rainy front. The rainy front will fluctuate over Korea from late June to early July. Afterward, moving north of 40°N, it will stagnate. Thus, frequent rains until early July will be followed by a monsoon break (mid-July to early August), bringing sweltering heat and drought, with temperatures over 35°C in many areas. Localized heavy rains are possible. After the break, monsoon rains will resume around mid-August. All sectors must urgently address potential accident risks during the monsoon. [Korean Central News Agency] Path to Raising Education Standards Lies in Education Science Researchers’ Experience Guiding Rural Schools The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:
Recently, researchers from the Education Science Institute guided work to raise education standards at Ryongpho District, lifting the most backward school to advanced rank, causing a stir among teachers, students, parents, and officials. This transcends merely elevating one school; it reaffirms that educational success requires scientific theories and methods aligned with talent cultivation laws. This achievement clearly demonstrated education science’s power and vitality. Researchers prioritized innovating lesson design at Ryongpho Senior Middle School. As teaching—education’s foundation—begins with lesson design, prioritizing this was justified. Analyzing teachers’ lesson plans revealed they merely copied reference books. Educational and teaching goals were stated, but objectives to cultivate students’ intellectual and creative application abilities weren’t precisely set per subject, grade, or content. Teaching structures were rigidly formulaic; teachers lacked scientific insight into what abilities to cultivate to what level. Researchers guided teachers to scientifically design lessons based on newly pioneered educational taxonomy. Intellectual and creative application ability indicators and standards were used to concretize objectives and design teaching structures. The key was designing teaching structures with firm awareness: Teachers’ activities to impart new knowledge/abilities begin with lesson design; students’ learning activities begin with previewing for the next lesson. This created teaching structures differing from past practices, enhancing efficiency. Teachers creatively designed lessons by grasping/applying education science principles, transforming classes into joint learning activities, and perfectly fulfilling roles as guides and inspirers. Students actively learned as proactive explorers, also cultivating cooperative communication, presentation skills, and moral character. Researchers simultaneously promoted teachers’ pedagogical artistry and improved extracurricular education and environments per pedagogical demands, fundamentally renewing the school’s appearance. The key experience: Rural schools’ education standards can be rapidly elevated by placing education on a scientific foundation per the Party’s intent. By Kong Ro Hyok Vigorous Technical Innovation Movement The Yongtan Thermal Power Plant vigorously conducts mass technical innovation to boost production. Officials grasp sci-tech as key to power production, actively introducing innovations from technicians and workers. Recently, a new medal-processing method halved critical material consumption for generator parts. Regenerated oil reuse via a new filtering device replaced frequent oil changes during generator repairs. Officials and workers consolidate achievements, continuously raising power production. Orderly Recycling System Established The Resource Recycling Team at the Anju City Construction Brigade systematically increases quality resin product production. Previously relying on experience, quality suffered. Team leader Choe Yong Ae established a new orderly system. Meticulously sorting waste by material, color, and quality ensured accurate raw material standards. Analyzing product weight against input established a pass/fail evaluation system, significantly improving quality. By Rodong Sinmun Correspondent Actively Utilize Local and Regional Characteristics in Construction Under the Party’s wise leadership, today’s Korea sees monumental creations for the people rise ceaselessly—unfolding a great era of transformation and construction revolution. As capital and local areas transform simultaneously, reflecting our people’s aspirations for a civilized, powerful socialist nation, a key Party policy demand emerges:
Actively utilize local and regional characteristics in construction. This embodies the Party’s sublime intention to transform all regions into ideal villages brimming with happiness and embodying our state’s developmental features and unique character. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:
Reflecting regional characteristics in all structures, maximally ensuring people’s interests and convenience, and distinctly manifesting the people-oriented character of Juche architecture are fundamental principles. Construction is creation; originality and non-repetition are its essence. Formulaic repetition is forbidden. Structures must be diverse, unique, and eco-friendly, considering local traits, to renew the nation’s appearance per socialist civilization’s demands. Regions differ climatically and geographically: Some endure heavy snow and prolonged cold; others face strong winds; mountainous areas contrast plains or coasts. No single architectural form suits all. Areas with heavy rain/snow or strong winds require proper roof forms and wall structures for safety and practicality. Aesthetics and artistry require designs harmonizing with surroundings. Even finishing colors matter: Mountainous areas suit natural wood/stone tones; plains gentle hues; coasts white/blue combinations reflecting the sea. The Party provided exemplary models through Samjiyon City’s transformation into a model mountain cultural city. Streets like Poplar and Chongphong embody practicality, diversity, and artistry—perfectly realizing the principles of user-friendliness and aesthetics while preserving natural topography. Coastal areas showcase this too: Kalma Peninsula’s Myongsasimri—a national treasure-class maritime park and coastal tourism city—majestically displays unique coastal character. Reality proves: Only by thoroughly implementing Juche architectural ideas and actively utilizing local characteristics can structures become foundations for economic growth and civilization, pillars supporting national prosperity. Utilizing local characteristics is essential amid today’s intensified struggle for comprehensive national development. Thus, provinces, cities, and counties must completely overcome erroneous tendencies—rigid, formulaic approaches to layout, lack of originality/diversity ignoring local culture, and repetition or expediency in architectural forms. Crucially, strengthen design capabilities for utilizing local characteristics and continuously elevate their level. Architectural design is construction’s vanguard. Splendid structures embodying the Party’s Juche architectural aesthetics and people’s aspirations are born on the drafting table; our strides toward a civilized socialist nation begin with design. Regional leaders must dynamically push to staff design institutions with creatively gifted personnel. Methodologically enhance designers’ skills—facilitating study tours to central design institutions, providing necessary conditions—and strengthen material-technical foundations. Designers must deeply study construction sites and regional traits, ensuring artistic harmony, compatibility, and connectivity between buildings—not thoughtlessly copying other regions or indulging in superficiality. Fortifying material production bases reflecting local traits is vital. Finishing materials profoundly influence architectural character. To complete each structure as a vibrant creation representing its region—overflowing with people’s aspirations, emotion, and dignified spirit of a great power—requires producing finishing materials per local needs. Regions must tenaciously strive to build self-sufficient finishing material production bases, achieving material diversification, variety, and multicolored production. Actively pioneer developing materials utilizing local resources and reflecting regional features. Never neglect strengthening technicians’ and skilled workers’ quality and quantity. Leaders can effectively utilize local characteristics only by possessing profound architectural knowledge. Overcoming repetition while ensuring practicality and harmony with terrain demands rich knowledge. Leaders must remember: Pioneering the Party’s construction policy requires first enhancing their own competence. Always deeply engrave Party construction policy, and from a world-leading vision, continuously create new architectural forms utilizing local traits—transforming all regions into socialist fairylands with unique charm and character.
