Amid the fervent patriotic zeal of the entire people, who are single-heartedly devoted to the sustained prosperity and development of our nation, boiling over even more fiercely with the glorious September, the National Flag Raising Ceremony and Central Pledge Meeting to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on September 9.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the commemorative event.

Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, along with cadres from the Party and government, deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly, and commanding officers of the armed forces organs, participated.

The Honor Guard of the Korean People's Army was lined up at the commemorative ceremony venue of the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

Eyes, solemnized with a fiery aspiration to uphold and glorify our country, the greatest and most beautiful in the world, even higher, reverently looked up at the flag, firmly merging patriotic hearts into one.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made the commemorative pledge on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.

Following the recitation by the Head of State, the leadership cadres solemnly pledged before the sacred national flag that they, as responsible members defending the sovereignty of the DPRK and the interests of the Korean people and serving the country and its people, would always be infinitely sincere in promoting the welfare of the people and the growth and development of the state, thoroughly safeguard the Constitution of the Republic, strictly fulfill legal obligations, firmly uphold the socialist ideals and socialist system, and devote their body and soul to perpetuating the greatness and beauty of the beloved Motherland with loyalty.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that the 77-year-long project of building a powerful nation, which began from the day the new Korea was proclaimed, is now being proudly summarized by the extraordinary status our country has attained, and declared that the mighty flow of the prosperous era, created by our own hands, cannot be reversed by any force.

At this moment when the immortal significance of the glorious and rewarding struggle, which unfolded the grand ambition to lead the whole world with the powerful strength united by truth into a stark reality, looms large in history, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un proudly said that the iron truth engraved deep in our hearts is that the socialism we chose was the one and only right path, and that it was precisely because of the power of justice and truth inherent in socialism that we could build a powerful political system and robust national strength that would never leave the destiny of one's own country to any external choice, and could welcome such glory as today.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that socialism is the symbol of the great and beautiful Korea, the cornerstone and inexhaustible driving force for the eternal existence and endless prosperous development of the Republic, and affirmed that as long as our-style socialism continues to advance victoriously, this land will forever be peaceful and prosperous, and the well-being and happiness of our people will be protected for all generations to come.
