As the annual task of the second year of implementing the 《20×10 Policy for Local Development》, which brings forward the brilliant future of building a socialist ideal society, has been gloriously concluded, and the entire country is thrilling with joy, feeling the pulsation of change, a significant event was greeted in Kusong City, North Phyongan Province: the completion of an advanced medical service base that will contribute to improving the health of local residents.

The Kusong City Hospital, which has risen by the steadfast will and direct guidance of Kim Jong Un who is intent on providing the people across the country with more cultured and happiness-filled living conditions and the benefits of modern healthcare through tangible changes in local areas, is another proud fruit born of the new era of local development.

The completion ceremony for the Kusong City Hospital under the 《20×10 Policy for Local Development》 was held grandly on December 13.

The completion ceremony site was seething with the boundless pride and self-confidence of the builders who upheld the long-cherished project of the Party Central Committee with labor devotion, and the great excitement and joy of the citizens of Kusong who are the first in the local area to enjoy the benefits of advanced medical service thanks to the Party's benevolence.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, attended the completion ceremony.

Upon the arrival of Comrade Kim Jong Un at the hospital completion ceremony site, stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" burst forth, shaking heaven and earth.

All the participants reverently extended the warmest greetings of gratitude to Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is engraving endless traces of great devotion born of day-and-night contemplation and agony, directing all state affairs to be subordinated to the people's sake and opening up an era of prosperity where all people across the country can lead affluent and civilized lives at the earliest date.

The ceremony was attended by participants of the 13th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, builders, officials of Party and power organs and medical institutions in North Phyongan Province and Kusong City, and working people.

He mentioned that following the Kangdong County Hospital, which first showed the completely new appearance of a local hospital, the Kusong City Hospital has splendidly risen, embodying our Party's ideas and principles on hospital construction in the new era.

He stressed that the wise leadership of our Party to newly lay the foundation of local healthcare has already brought about a world-level transformation in different regions of the country in its very first year, and through this process, the principles and methodology for hospital construction to be expanded to all cities and counties in the future have been confirmed, and the foundation has been laid to vigorously push forward the modernization of healthcare with sufficient capacity and confidence to realize it.

Saying that the days until such excellent results, which meet the demands of the times and are acclaimed by the people, were achieved are imbued with the hot great heart's blood of the great parent, he emotionally mentioned the devotion of Comrade Kim Jong Un who has valued the building of healthcare capability as a sacred undertaking for protecting the people's lives and health and has laid its foundation one by one.

He emphasized that the modern hospitals rising up everywhere in the country are the precious crystallization of the people-first politics which can be determined and accomplished only by our Party and State that subordinate and orient everything in the state and social life to promoting the people's health and welfare.

The speaker said that when we link today's powerful first step with bigger strides and boldly and stubbornly realize the tasks of the health revolution, our healthcare will firmly take its place as a true image of socialist Korea. He passionately appealed to all to advance vigorously toward the future of a thriving powerful nation overflowing with people's laughter and happiness, armed with firm faith in the justness and vitality of our Party's policies and devoting all patriotic wisdom and passion.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the Kusong City Hospital is another precious creation that shows the Party's will to transform and strengthen local areas and the unceasing developmental appearance to be achieved by our healthcare overall, and at the same time further clarifies the meaning of the year 2025, the first year of the health revolution.

Comrade Kim Jong Un recalled that at this December Party Plenary Meeting, it was decided to simultaneously build modern hospitals in 20 cities and counties every year starting from next year, based on the experience of building local hospitals on a trial basis this year. He said that hastening the advancement of the ranks of medical workers is raised as a more urgent issue than anything else, that the fundamental issue in the health revolution is the matter of personnel, and that for this, it is an important task to fundamentally reform the state medical education system in a way that conforms to our country's reality and take revolutionary measures for training experts in the healthcare sector.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to strategically and offensively push forward the work of raising the clinical skill level and academic quality of medical workers, and clarified important tasks to be undertaken at the state level.

He also pointed out that normative guidebooks should be created and scientific and technical guarantees established so that the management and operation of modern medical facilities and equipment can be done well.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that matters related to hospital operation also become an important political issue for defending the Party's policies and keeping the people's trust in the Party. He expressed the firm resolve and will to build modern hospitals in 20 cities and counties every year and surely build up the country's healthcare foundation in the near future.
