Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, inspected various units.

Surveying the Mugal Co-op Farm and the Phyongam Co-op Farm in Koksan County, and the Township Co-op Farm and Gurak Co-op Farm in Singye County, and other places, he emphasized the need to focus all the efforts on harvesting and threshing so as to successfully wrap up this year's farming and to decisively increase the rate of mechanization in farm work.

At food administration stations in Koksan County and Singye County, Singok Reservoir and Poman Fish Farm in Sohung County, he learned about grain procurement, storage conditions and water reserve and discussed issues in speeding up the reconstruction of the fish farm.

He also made rounds of the Anju Area Coal-Mining Complex and the Posan Iron Works. He underscored the need to continue directing efforts to developing new coal-mines with many reserves and good mining conditions, complete the Juche-based system of making iron and to further strengthen material and technical foundations for putting production on normal track.
