The DPRK embassy in Moscow hosted a reception on April 11 to mark the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (Day of the Sun).

Present there on invitation were personages of the government, political parties, organisations and institutions of Russia including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Development of Far East and Arctic, the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Liberal Democratic Party, the General People's Union Party, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the newspaper Zavtra and State Academy Beryozka Dancing Troupe of Russia Named after N.S. Nadezhdina.

The DPRK charge d'affaires ad interim in Russia and embassy staff members were present.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before an art piece depicting President Kim Il Sung standing together with Chairman Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

They looked round photos dealing with the undying exploits performed by the great leaders and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for the development of the DPRK-Russia relations, immortal classical works of the peerlessly great men and books introducing the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the reception.

The director of the Asia 1 Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said he was pleased that Kim Il Sung made a great contribution to the development of good-neighbor and cooperative relations between the peoples of the two countries and the tradition of the Russia-DPRK friendship provided by the preceding generations is being carried forward.

The chairperson of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia stressed that Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, is an outstanding state leader recognized by the world, and he defeated the invasion by the imperialist allied forces to defend the sovereignty of the country.
