On the Occasion of the Day of Struggle Against U.S. Imperialism

Meeting of Workers and Trade Union Members to Pledge Revenge Held

Amidst the boiling wrath and hatred of the entire people against the U.S. imperialists—the sworn enemy who brought the calamity of war to our sacred land—a meeting of workers and trade union members to pledge revenge was held on June 23 at the Central Class Education House plaza.

Officials of the General Federation of Trade Unions Central Committee, trade union officials, workers, and members from Pyongyang attended.

Following a report, discussions ensued. Reporters and speakers stated that though over 70 years have passed since the guns of war fell silent, the heinous crimes committed by the enemy remain as blood-soaked, eternal resentment in the hearts of the nation’s workers and trade union members. Imperialists’ aggression ambitions grow bolder across centuries and decades; even now, the enemy obsessively clings to reckless nuclear war provocations, gravely threatening our people’s right to survival and development.

They stressed that no matter how desperately the enemy rages, they cannot match the people of powerful Korea today, who uphold the great leadership and are politically and militarily solidly prepared. They noted that under the outstanding ideology and energetic leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the most powerful in the world, our Republic has risen to the world’s pinnacle as an undisputed military power that no aggressor dares challenge, thoroughly guaranteeing the country’s prosperity and people’s happiness with the treasured sword of nuclear justice for independence.

If the day of decisive battle comes, they pledged to fully unleash their tempered will for punishment and wrath—holding a gun in one hand and the hammer of creation in the other—and stoke the flames of production struggle higher to achieve the comprehensive development of our-style socialism. They stated they would possess the Juche-based view of war and sharp anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. class consciousness, flawlessly prepare for an all-people war, strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in every way, and vigorously develop mass movements contributing to the defense industry’s development.

Reporters and speakers emphasized their firm conviction that Korea, advancing under the leadership of the great Party Central Committee, will always be victorious and glorious. They pledged to fully devote themselves to implementing the decisions of the 8th Party Congress and demonstrate the revolutionary spirit and mettle of the heroic Kim Il SungKim Jong Il working class in the majestic struggle to make this meaningful year shine with proud labor achievements.

After the meeting, participants toured the Central Class Education House.

On the Occasion of the Day of Struggle Against U.S. Imperialism

Meeting of Students and Schoolchildren to Pledge Revenge Held

A meeting of students and schoolchildren to pledge revenge was held on June 23 at the plaza of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.

Youth League officials and students from Pyongyang attended. First, a lecturer from the Central Class Education House spoke. He condemned the U.S. imperialists’ atrocities—who ignited the flames of aggressive war on the peaceful land of the homeland and left an unhealable wound in our people’s hearts—as unforgivable crimes for all eternity. Schools once echoing with learning, streets and villages brimming with life’s joy turned into ashes and slaughterhouses; the bloody cries of souls who fell with resentment under the murderers intensify the avengers’ sense of mission a hundredfold. He stressed that if the enemy dares invade our homeland, students must fight bravely to protect their beloved hometowns and dear schools like the boy guards of the war.

Discussions followed. Speakers said all students must deeply cherish the unyielding conviction that victory is certain as long as Father Marshal Kim Jong Un is with us. They must study and organizational life better to grow into strong boy revolutionaries and patriots. Fantasizing about the enemy is death—this iron truth and sharp class consciousness must prepare them as vanguard fighters in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. class struggle. They pledged to actively support the People’s Army and vigorously conduct the "good deed" movement to contribute to strengthening the country’s defense.

Speeches expressed fiery resolve to temper body and mind with loyalty and patriotism during school days, dash to the outposts of national defense, and firmly defend the socialist homeland with the rifle of revolution and class. The meeting, where icy hatred for the enemy and the desire for thousand-fold revenge surged powerfully, showcased the iron will of the new generation to decisively punish aggressors as descendants of the great victorious generation should war clouds gather again.

Amidst the new era of Pyongyang prosperity unfolding under the Party’s wise leadership, cultural and welfare facilities ensuring convenience in citizens’ lives are being splendidly established across the capital’s streets, bringing joy.

Upholding the motherly Party’s noble intention for our people to fully enjoy socialist civilization and happy lives, officials and employees in Pyongyang’s service sector have recently achieved success in newly renovating environments and conditions at over 300 barbershops, beauty parlors, and clothing stores.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"In all policy formulation and implementation, our Party prioritizes and absolutely values the people’s interests and convenience, directs all social wealth toward enhancing their welfare, and enables them to enjoy the highest civilization at the optimum level."

The Pyongyang People’s Committee concretely planned the modern reconstruction of service facilities directly linked to people’s lives and meticulously organized political work to thoroughly ensure construction quality, prioritizing customers’ convenience. Based on accurately surveying resident numbers and service units’ actual conditions, it first created model units and generalized excellent achievements and experiences. It also ensured officials always recognize their responsibility and duty as servants of the people and orient all work toward enhancing citizens’ welfare.

Officials in service sectors in Chung and Phyongchon districts, who internalized our Party’s selfless service spirit of never being satisfied and taking on more work for the people’s sake, set high goals to transform district barbershops and beauty parlors to match modern aesthetics and qualitatively conducted interior finishing, including lighting and wall decoration.

Officials and employees of the Sonkyo District Service Office spared no effort to quickly provide better cultural living conditions. Using their own strength, they splendidly renovated the Youth Street Barbershop, Beauty Parlor, and Mujin Bathhouse, installing hair-washing equipment with warm water showers at each barber and beauty chair for customers’ convenience.

In Taedonggang District, in connection with relevant units, the Okryu Barbershop, Beauty Parlor, and Tapje Bathhouse were equipped with disinfection machines and other service facilities, continuously improving service standards.

Driven by the desire to repay, even minimally, the ever-growing love and affection of our Party for the people, officials and employees of the Moranbong and Sosong District Service Offices procured necessary materials and equipment prospectively and proactively carried out construction. They completed ahead of schedule this year’s reconstruction plans for the Songbuk Beauty Parlor and Hasin Barbershop.

Service facilities in Ryongsong and Sadong districts, with their splendidly improved environments, bustle daily with residents. Pyongyang’s clothing stores, featuring distinctively arranged product sample rooms and workshops, also brightened with customers happily trying on new clothes tailored to modern trends yet matching their tastes and aesthetics.

Officials and employees in Pyongyang’s service sector find pride and reward in citizens’ bright smiles. They firm their resolve to work sincerely for the people upheld by our Party like heaven.

When We Deeply Cherish the Nation’s Benevolence

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"All working people must make it a revolutionary ethic of our people to repay the Party’s and revolution’s, the state’s and society’s benevolence and kindness through practice by working conscientiously and faithfully."

Citizens born on this land occasionally take certain things for granted as naturally as drinking water or breathing air, assuming tomorrow will continue unchanged like yesterday and today. This is the immense benevolence and benefits ceaselessly bestowed by the Party and state.

Whoever reflects on their life’s journey will realize that all happiness—being born, learning freely in the Party’s embrace, and blossoming a rewarding life at the workplace or post of their dreams—is neither heaven-sent chance nor solely from birth parents. Among the world’s many nations, only our glorious homeland defends its people’s destiny tenaciously, grants true dignity and pride, and unfolds an endlessly brilliant future. Thus, we know nothing greater or more precious than the happiness of living in its embrace.

Then let us reflect: Have we taken for granted the countless benedictions received monthly and yearly, and the fortune of living under future blessings?

Today, the relationship between the homeland and each individual is an inseparable destiny, a blood bond. Therefore, repaying the nation’s endless benevolence and answering the homeland’s love with great devotion must be everyone’s sacred duty and true life.

How passionately we have felt: The respected Comrade General Secretary’s warm, intense sincerity—embracing ten million people warmly yet regarding it as mere grains of sand compared to mountains—and the toil of the Great Parent, endlessly continuing the journey of defending the homeland and devoting himself to the people to build a first-class powerful nation envied by the world where all sons and daughters enjoy happiness without want.

For us, the homeland is the respected Comrade General Secretary’s embrace. As the love and benevolence received there are endless, so must a citizen’s duty be to never be satisfied on the path of repayment.

The significance of the great transformation unfolding on this land is too grand and profound for any words, but its essence is singular: endless love for the people. The fiery sincerity of the infinitely affectionate Parent—who feels only insufficiency even after giving a hundred or a thousand times—permeates everywhere we live and work.

Repaying love and affection is human duty. Even among kin, neighbors, or comrades, only those who deeply cherish received affection and grace in their hearts and know how to repay it long-term can be called true humans.

Consciously realizing daily, hourly, that we live under a love impossible to repay even with a lifetime, and thus must only tread the path of endless repayment—this weaves the true tapestry of life.

Those who think, "Isn’t this enough after doing some work for the nation?" or expect two or three rewards for work benefiting the state cannot be called the homeland’s true sons and daughters. Even without guarding a flashy post or performing heroic feats that astonish the world, lifelong unchanging loyalty to the country leaves behind a flawless, upright footprint of conscience—this is the citizen’s repayment for the nation’s endless benevolence.

Let us deeply reaffirm: As the nation’s benevolence is endless, so must the citizen’s repayment have no limit. Endless giving alone is our true honor and unparalleled pride as sons and daughters of the homeland.

Resolutely Put Ideals into Practice

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"A person’s ideology manifests not in revolutionary words or oaths but in practice and results."

Humans must have dreams. Beautiful dreams connected to the homeland’s prosperity. Such dreams, big or small, are incomparably precious and beautiful; holding them, one can purposefully forge their life path. Yet, holding dreams doesn’t guarantee a fulfilling, brilliant life. More important than having dreams or ideals is practicing them.

Often, people wish to do this and that, possessing more dreams than others. But closer examination reveals insufficient effort to realize them. Some abandon dreams midway, deeming them too hard; others idly hope for others’ help or chance to fulfill them. Such people live worthless lives leaving no trace, dreaming lifelong only to fail.

Once a dream is held, no matter how beautiful or hard the path, practice it resolutely to the end. Only then can one succeed and shine life truly.

Now, feeling the brilliant transformation unfolding across the homeland under our Party’s wise leadership, everyone says: All things only imagined in dreams or sketched as ideals unfold as reality before our eyes. Then let us reflect: What has each done to realize that dream, and how much effort was made?

The Party teaches this is not a time for dreaming but solely for practice. A single meaningful, substantive step forward is more valuable than dreaming unrealizable dreams a hundred or a thousand days. Don’t be a dreamer worse than not dreaming at all; be a resolute practitioner striving desperately to realize dreams.

Let us be practitioners, not mere dreamers. When our daily lives link to realizing dreams and ideals through resolute practice, the homeland’s advance accelerates that much more.

Our era demands people who not only align their dreams and ideals with the Party Central Committee’s vision but fight and fight again to practice them—resolute practitioners and passionate revolutionaries.

News from Worker-Peasant Correspondents

According to worker-peasant correspondent Han Yong Il, at the Unjong Branch of Sukchon Youth Fruit Farm, there are work team leader Rim Kwang Hyon and his wife Ha Jang Gil, who sent their children to national defense outposts.

They devoted great care to home education from their children’s childhood, nurturing them into true humans who know the homeland’s preciousness and devote themselves to it. Heeding their parents’ urging to firmly defend the grateful homeland with rifles, three children donned revolutionary military uniforms and stood at national defense outposts. Whenever joyful news arrives of their exemplary military service, the couple proudly feel their pride as rear families and firm their resolve to work better.

Rim Kwang Hyon, as a model of leading by example, rallies work team members to solidly contribute to annual fruit production. His wife Ha Jang Gil also fulfills her responsibility in consolidating the work team’s livestock base.

According to worker-peasant correspondent Choi Song Chol, the daily routine of Cho Kwang Pok, a maintenance worker at Choyang Coal Mine Pit 2, begins with strict equipment checks.

Discharged over 20 years ago, he initially aspired to be a famed miner like others, hewing coal stoutly. But seeing miners’ frustration over frequent equipment breakdowns, he voluntarily became a maintenance worker. Since then, his life flowed beside pit equipment. Though handling unfamiliar equipment initially, he mastered necessary technical skills one by one, driven by the belief that equipment’s smooth operation directly boosted coal production. Countless nights were spent mastering equipment and ensuring full operation; untold devotion was poured in.

Tiring moments came while managing heavy equipment, but he always rallied with the awareness of his crucial role in coal production. Months ago, when urgent work unfolded to deploy precious equipment sent by the Party to the pit face, he stayed on-site for days, solving technical problems overnight, greatly contributing to coal production. When advised to take it easy at his age, he says fatigue vanishes when his equipment runs flawlessly. Thus, yesterday and today, his sincere, passionate dedication remains unchanged—devoting his all to ensure full operation and full load of equipment, thinking only of coal production.
