Striving for Successful Conclusion of Wheat and Barley Farming

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"A key task our Party emphasizes in developing agricultural production today is changing the country’s grain production structure and strongly promoting rice and wheat farming."

Determined to sound the triumphant drum in all-grain farming this meaningful year marking the 80th anniversary of the Party’s founding, agricultural officials and workers nationwide strive to harvest wheat and barley completely in the shortest time.

Aiming to Finish Harvest in Five Days

Officials and agricultural workers in Hwangju County joyfully anticipate firmly securing an average yield increase of over 1 ton per jungbo (approx. 2.45 acres) compared to last year across all wheat fields. They devote themselves to successfully concluding all-grain farming.

Foreseeing a substantial wheat production increase, the county flawlessly prepared agricultural machinery and storage containers. It set the goal to finish harvest in five days. Since day one, rational work organization and maximized machinery utilization achieved high daily results.

The county prioritized deploying multiple combine harvesters to units with large wheat areas like Ryongchon, Koyon, Sonbong, and Ryonggung Farms. It also ensured fuel and spare parts supply to enable big farms to lead work. Simultaneously, it focused on uplifting lagging units. Under the county Party committee’s guidance, capable officials from county-level institutions were dispatched to backward work teams. Amidst county mobile art agitation teams’ songs resounding even in remote fields, amazing innovations are created at every farm and work team.

By June 23, the county recorded 91% harvest completion. With hundredfold courage and surging spirit, it pushes forward harvesting, threshing, drying, and purchasing comprehensively and rapidly.

Mobilizing the Masses’ Creative Initiative

Work of Officials at Kangso Knitwear Factory

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Whether Party officials, administrative-economic officials, or primary officials, they must grasp mobilizing the masses’ spiritual strength as the basic key and devote due effort to it."

One day in early March, Kangso Knitwear Factory intensely discussed two issues: modernizing the factory into a knitting and dyeing base, and uninterrupted student uniform production during this period. Burdening officials was insufficient labor for both tasks.

Some suggested requesting construction labor. Given most employees were women, this wasn’t unreasonable. But factory officials, including manager Kim Jong Sim, chose no easy path. They resolved to ignite a fierce technological innovation flame to enhance their own strength despite difficulties.

Thus, modernization and technical innovation to solve labor issues through equipment renovation proceeded simultaneously. Officials excelled in mobilizing the masses’ creative initiative. Consider the calender machine renovation. Initially, only the technical innovation team handled it. Over time, officials admitted flaws in work organization: renovations lagged behind schedule.

Learning the lesson, officials actively involved the masses. They explained the task’s importance and seriously discussed even simple suggestions. They created conditions for creative cooperation between technicians and field workers. Consequently, calender machine renovations succeeded, raising productivity per unit time while significantly saving electricity and labor.

The fruits of turning technological innovation into the masses’ own task didn’t end there. As creativity surged, repairmen Choe Chol Ryong and Ri Chol Jin created a processing device praised by seamstresses for halving sewing time.

The process of self-producing flocculant also shows how mobilizing mass creativity brings progress. One day, an official noticed residue from boilers. Its fineness resembled flocculant used to purify dyeing wastewater. He proposed using it as flocculant for mass discussion, gaining support from technicians like the technical section chief. Subsequently, officials and technicians researched technical materials and succeeded in self-producing flocculant by late March.

The secret to fulfilling production plans while modernizing lies in fiercely stoking the flames of mass technological innovation.

Elevating Responsibility and Competitive Fervor

Educational Experience of Officials at Wonsan Secondary School for Orphans

Recently, many officials and educators focused on education at Wonsan Secondary School for Orphans.

Achievements include: selection as a 2023 "Top 10 Teacher," People’s Teacher awards, Three Honors Red Flag, splendidly equipped labs, and generalized experiences. Particularly notable is the high university admission rate. This year, dozens of graduates entered Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, and other central and provincial universities.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"The basic mission of primary and secondary orphanages is to rear orphans as the core of the revolution and the backbone of the country."

Five years ago, newly appointed principal Choe Nam Ryon identified strengths and weaknesses. The Party’s affection provided optimal educational conditions. Teachers’ extraordinary responsibility in wholly raising orphans and orphans’ zeal to repay were precious assets. Yet shortcomings existed, including insufficient orientation toward new, innovative approaches.

Analyzing these, officials explored and implemented methodologies to enhance education quality suited to the orphanage’s characteristics.

First, they prioritized creating ample space for home education, crucial in orphans’ growth. Under Party organization guidance, the orphanage intensified ideological work to instill in staff the perspective that before being educators, they are kin. Teachers meticulously cared for orphans’ diary writing, study organization, stationery management, room tidiness, and personal hygiene with parental affection, becoming familiar in a homely atmosphere. This process opened orphans’ hearts and accurately grasped their desires and unique talents.

Now, over 30 extracurricular groups operate vibrantly. A key to their effectiveness lies here.

Another initiative: Monthly exhibitions and presentations showcase what subgroups learned, allowing concrete review of group activities. Outstanding works earn recognition for subgroup instructors and responsible staff, encouraging deeper affection for orphans.

Countless efforts predawn or overnight—walking tens of ri, welcoming new days at the orphanage for study guidance—defy full description. That orphans repeatedly presented literary works, sketches, and calligraphy to the respected Comrade General Secretary; that many won Children’s Literature Prizes and July 15 Top Honors; that they consistently excel in national sports—clearly proves officials’ efforts in exploring and implementing new educational methodologies tailored to unit characteristics yield fruit.

Elevating staff’s competitive fervor is notable. The orphanage substantially organized learning from highly skilled educators, broadening teachers’ horizons. It established a sound system for sharing advanced teaching methods through close ties with relevant units. Sometimes, teachers observed skilled educators’ review sessions during extracurricular time. To strengthen experimental practice education, it organized observations and encouraged creating high-impact teaching materials.

As teachers’ enthusiasm grew and new methods emerged, the orphanage heightened competition through experience creation and generalization. A monthly meeting of all departments is representative. Here, excellent teaching methods and experiences created among teachers are actively generalized. Methods presented originate from teachers’ ideas, supplemented by collective wisdom and officials’ opinions, including Vice-Principal Han Sun Hui.

Evaluating work by detailed categories, including orphans’ skills, also spurred mass competition. Notably, evaluation didn’t prioritize rankings. Rather, it focused on progress: encouragement if regressed, recognition if advanced beyond previous levels.

This year’s astonishing admission rate resulted from officials’ innovative work ethic—making unit characteristics the starting point for development and repeatedly contemplating and exploring.

The experience of Wonsan Secondary School for Orphans’ officials is a precious answer on focusing and implementing methodologies to uphold the Party’s will in rearing orphans at primary and secondary orphanages nationwide as stalwarts bearing the socialist powerful nation.
