The unique characteristics of our state lie primarily in its being a country of the people with high dignity, a state where the character of the people is thoroughly guaranteed.

It is the popular masses who determine the existence and development of the state, its future and destiny.

Today, our Republic is institutionally ensuring that the popular masses, holding state sovereignty and the means of production in their own hands, enjoy a valuable and happy life as the true masters of political life and the genuine enjoyers of economic and cultural life. The fact that even amidst trials and hardships, the most people-oriented education system and healthcare system are consistently maintained, and the lofty goal of transforming all people into scientific and technological talents is being realized, is a proud reality that can only be found in our Republic, where the popular masses are the masters of everything. Our Republic, which implements the most superior people-oriented policies unwaveringly regardless of favorable or unfavorable conditions, unfolds grand operations for promoting the people's welfare and firmly guarantees the endless happiness of generations to come, is indeed a true people's country admired and respected by all, the most dignified people's state where the people are the true masters, which no country on earth can emulate.

The unique characteristics of our state also lie in it being a country of single-hearted unity where ideological monolith has been realized, a country where the monolithic nature of ideology has been perfectly achieved.

The most ideal state is one where all citizens achieve ideological and volitional oneness and unity.

In the course of building a new society, our Republic has referred to the experiences of other countries in the economic and technological fields, but has absolutely not allowed imitation and importation in the political and ideological fields, solving everything in an original manner. The reason our Republic could soar as an independent power upholding justice and an invincible socialist bulwark is because it has upheld the immortal Juche idea as the state political philosophy and thoroughly implemented it. By firmly placing the ideological work of arming all people with the Juche idea in accordance with the essential requirements of socialist society and intensifying the struggle to establish the Party's monolithic ideological system and monolithic leadership system throughout society, the socialist system could be firmly maintained on this land, and the historical miracle of all people achieving single-hearted unity around the Party Central Committee could be accomplished. An ideological power possessing the great Juche idea, which constitutes the highest peak in the history of human ideological thought, as its state political philosophy, a country of single-hearted unity that has realized the ideological monolith of the entire society by transforming the Juche idea into the ideology, will, and outlook on life of all people—this is the prestige of our state soaring to the pinnacle.

The unique characteristics of our state also lie in it being a miraculous country that has built an independent economy and self-reliant defense capabilities, a country with firm independence.

One of the fundamental and core issues arising in building a powerful and prosperous nation is establishing a country with strong independence.

The correctness of our Republic's line of self-reliance, its truthfulness and might, which eradicates all ideological maladies such as the spirit of dependence on others and import addiction, and opens the path to prosperity with our own strength, technology, and resources, has been clearly confirmed in the historical practice spanning several decades. Our country, which has turned the despicable hostile forces' sanctions and blockade into an opportunity to increase its own strength and has vigorously advanced along its own development path, has leapt over centuries that others have walked, firmly laid the foundation of an independent economy, and amassed powerful strength.

Our country, which in the past did not even have a proper matchlock and had its entire territory seized by foreign forces, today possesses an invincible revolutionary armed force with ever-victorious military strategy and tactics, heroic fighting spirit, and perfect practical combat capabilities; it has been transformed into an impregnable fortress where the arming of all people and the fortification of the whole country are realized, with an all-people defense system, a military power with an independent and modern defense industry that can produce any advanced weaponry and equipment as it wishes. The legalization and constitutionalization of the policy of strengthening nuclear forces is a bold political decision that only our Republic could make—a country that regards self-respect and dignity as more precious than life and for which the readiness and will to pay any price has become the faith of all people, which achieved the great cause of nuclear possession through a long and arduous unprecedented struggle spanning generations and holds it as the most precious absolute force for independence, justice, and development.

A miraculous country that for the first time in history proclaimed the parallel development of the economy and national defense as a state policy and has successfully realized it—this is indeed the invincible majesty of our Republic.

The unique characteristics of our state also lie in it being a country with a bright future, with firm succession, having perfectly realized the issue of succession to the revolutionary cause.

Our Republic has successfully solved the issue of succession without any slight deviations or twists and turns. In our country, the succession to the revolution has long been regarded as a state affair of eternal importance, and much effort has been devoted to this work. Raising the issue of succession to leadership as a fundamental issue determining the destiny of the Party and revolution, a fundamental issue in the succession of the socialist state political system, and solving it perfectly both theoretically and practically is indeed the unparalleled pride and honor of Juche Korea.

As the grand temples and bases for revolutionary tradition education are splendidly built, educational work through them is deepened in various forms and methods, and the work to learn the sublime revolutionary spirit and fighting exploits of the preceding revolutionaries is continuously conducted, all people and soldiers of the People’s Army are growing mightily into genuine loyalists who have assimilated the spirit of defending the leader at the risk of their lives, strong individuals in ideology and conviction firmly armed with the death-defying fighting spirit of the So Wang Chong and Choe Chang Ju created during the days of the anti-Japanese struggle and the revolutionary spirit of the Gun Ja Ri battle during the war, possessors of a strong will to defend the revolutionary gains and inherit and complete the Juche revolutionary cause to the end. Sublime Intention Embedded in Precious Evaluation

On a day in April 2015, when the respected Comrade Supreme Leader visited the construction site of the Paektu Hero Youth Power Station, he looked around the rest house and learned in detail about how supplies for recuperation were ensured. Upon receiving a report that the meat, eggs, and vegetables necessary for operating the rest house were being produced and supplied by the rear bases run by the youth shock brigade itself, he said with great joy, "It's terrific. As I always say, self-reliance is primary."

Self-reliance is primary!

The moment they heard the words of the Parent, imbued with deep meaning, the hearts of the officials swelled with warmth.

When he stopped by the rest house warehouse and saw the provisions piled up in a way that was pleasing to the eye just by looking at them, the respected Comrade Supreme Leader once again highly praised the fact that the members of the Paektu Hero Youth Shock Brigade have a strong spirit of self-reliance and vitality to solve all problems with their own strength.

Looking back, the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance created since the pioneering days of the revolution was the driving force that enabled our motherland to bring about century-long miracles and transformations in multi-stages and open the path of victory and advance.

The respected Comrade Supreme Leader discerned the iron will of our youth to steadfastly carry forward the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, which was created during the days of the anti-Japanese struggle and has been the driving force of grand creation and transformation throughout the course of our revolution, from the fighting spirit and life spirit they are displaying on the land of Paektu, and evaluated it so highly.

That day, the respected Comrade Supreme Leader looked around various production processes and the ship launching site and concretely learned about the overall situation of the shipyard.

The respected Comrade Supreme Leader said that he firmly believes in the working class of the shipyard and has decided to entrust the task of building the newly planned modern cruise ship to this shipyard, and said, "Let's boldly unfold a battle, cling to it revolutionarily, and show a good example once."

Mass Political Work

Mass political work refers to the work of educating and mobilizing the masses.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stated:

"Officials must learn the political work methods, mass work methods, and leadership traits shown by the Great Leader and the Great General, always go among the masses, share life and death, joy and sorrow with them, educate the masses, and actively rouse them to the implementation of the Party's policies."

The success of revolutionary struggle and construction work greatly depends on how mass political work is conducted. Since revolution is a struggle that proceeds from the political conviction and consciousness of the working people themselves, it cannot advance victoriously without placing political work ahead among the masses and enhancing their consciousness and enthusiasm.

Mass political work has important significance in explaining and instilling the Party's lines and policies among the people, arousing their revolutionary enthusiasm, so that they themselves step forward to implement the Party's policies with high consciousness and enthusiasm.
