General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK Comrade KIM JONG UN held a meeting with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China Comrade Xi Jinping

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, held a meeting with Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People in the afternoon of September 4.

Comrade Xi Jinping warmly welcomed Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Comrade Kim Jong Un exchanged warm greetings with Comrade Xi Jinping and posed for a commemorative photograph against the backdrop of the national flags of the two countries.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed his gratitude to the Party, government, and people of China for their wholehearted and special hospitality toward the DPRK delegation. He extended his congratulations on the splendid and grand commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, praising it as a great political festival. He remarked that the event vividly demonstrated China’s steadfast determination to safeguard global peace and clearly manifested its significant international status and influence.

Comrade Xi Jinping, on behalf of the Party, government, and people of China, once again extended his warm welcome to Comrade Kim Jong Un’s visit to the People’s Republic of China. He emphasized that Comrade Kim Jong Un’s participation in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War represented the DPRK’s steadfast will to firmly defend the outcomes of the Second World War and served as an important occasion to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries.

Comrade Xi Jinping stated that China and Korea are excellent neighbors, true friends, and close comrades-in-arms who share a common destiny and assist each other. He affirmed that the Party and government of China place great importance on the traditional China-Korea friendship and expressed their commitment to faithfully safeguard, solidify, and further develop bilateral relations.

He stressed that no matter how the international situation may change, this consistent stance will remain unchanged. He further noted that, as in the past, China will continue to support Korea as it advances along the path of development suited to its own realities and steadily opens up a new phase in the socialist cause in the Korean style.

Comrade Kim Jong Un affirmed that regardless of how the international situation evolves, the feelings of friendship between Korea and China will never change, and the continuous deepening and development of Korea-China relations remain the unwavering will of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the DPRK government. He declared that Korea will, as always, fully and consistently support the positions and efforts of the Communist Party of China and the government of the People’s Republic of China to defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and developmental interests of the country.

The top leaders of the two countries exchanged frank and candid opinions on strengthening high-level exchanges and strategic communication between the DPRK and the PRC and informed each other about the independent policy stances maintained by the Parties and governments of both countries in the realm of external relations.

They also discussed enhancing strategic cooperation in international and regional matters and jointly safeguarding their common interests.

The talks proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

That evening, Comrade Xi Jinping hosted a banquet in honor of Comrade Kim Jong Un.
