The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the Special Operation Training Base under the direct control of the General Staff Department of the Korean People's Army on August 27 and learned about the training situation of sniper brigades and special operation brigades.

Senior officials of the WPK Central Committee including Comrade Jo Chun Ryong, Secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and Comrade Kim Jong Sik, First Vice-Department Director of the WPK Central Committee, accompanied him.

Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by Comrade No Kwang Chol, Minister of National Defense of the DPRK, and Comrade Ri Yong Gil, Chief of the General Staff of the KPA.

Comrade Kim Jong Un met with snipers and soldiers of special operation units organized for performing special tasks at the training base and learned about the status of armed equipment and training patterns of the brigades.

Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about the new sniper rifles being produced and supplied to the units.

Comrade Kim Jong Un assessed the long-range precision sniping characteristics and superiority of the new sniper rifles designed and developed this year by our Academy of National Defense Science in our own way to enhance the ergonomic performance of the weapon and the tactical mobility of snipers, expressing satisfaction that it is a very happy thing for our units to have such new-generation sniper weapons.

Comrade Kim Jong Un mentioned that the mission of sniper forces in the combat strength composition of units is very important, saying that snipers are soldiers specially selected and prepared to conduct independent and proactive military actions, like hunting dogs that surely kill enemy soldiers with hundred-percent sniping skills on the battlefield, and that greatly strengthening special operation forces and specialized sniper forces is an important task in our military building.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the issue of organizing a Central Sniper Training School under the General Staff Department will be reviewed by the Central Military Commission of the Party.

Comrade Kim Jong Un taught that concentration and high observational power are essential qualifying characteristics for snipers, and that in order to enhance snipers' concentration, patience, and observational power, various peripheral identification and environmental familiarization trainings should be given, and correct training methodologies should be established to master target selection during attack and defense between sniper teams and brigades, concealment and maneuver, selection and construction of firing positions, observation using various equipment and long-range precision firing methods, secrets of accurate shooting, etc., and scientific professional training should be intensified to enhance practical combat capabilities.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gave instructions that the Ministry of National Defense should produce camouflage uniforms to be supplied to sniper brigades from this year qualitatively according to the conditions and seasonal characteristics of the mission performance area.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that thoroughly implementing the Party's policy of training revolution, ideological revolution, and equipment revolution to more firmly arm the special operation forces as the central core force for war execution and the strongest combat group is a first-priority task in our military's war preparations at present.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that in order to occupy an absolute superiority unmatched by any country's special operation forces on today's battlefield where powerful armed equipment is competitively developed and introduced, we must actively push forward the modernization of armed equipment while continuously exploring and applying our own innovative tactics and combat methods, and strictly training soldiers to master them.

Comrade Kim Jong Un watched the live-fire training of the sniper brigade.

Comrade Kim Jong Un watched with joy the training scene of fighters demonstrating hundred-percent marksmanship, saying they really shoot well, and that any enemies that come into our soldiers' scopes will absolutely not survive.

Comrade Kim Jong Un then watched the comprehensive special physical training of the fighters of the special operation unit.

The soldiers participating in the training fully displayed their physical and technical capabilities, firmly preparing themselves as the advance guard of the invincible combat unit and revolutionary strong army.

Comrade Kim Jong Un highly appreciated the firm ideological and spiritual world of the fighters who are struggling with one heart and mind upholding the Party's idea of special operation force building, always carrying the battlefield in their hearts, and faithfully fulfilling their sacred mission and duty before the country and people, and embraced them with love and took a meaningful commemorative photo.

After the commemorative photo session, a vow of loyalty to defend the Party Central Committee with the great Comrade Kim Jong Un at the core erupted with stormy cheers.

Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly encouraged the reliable guards and ardent commanders filled with indomitable will to win only victory no matter what combat task is given at any time, saying, "You must make the enemies tremble with fear just at the sight of you!"

Comrade Kim Jong Un congratulated three snipers who fully demonstrated long-range precision sniping capabilities and showed excellent shooting skills that day, and took individual commemorative photos with them.

Comrade Kim Jong Un left a meaningful scene of love with officers and soldiers of the sniper brigade cultivating sure-kill sniping skills in the heat of high-intensity practical training.

The soldiers of the sniper brigade and fighters of the special operation unit, honored with the priceless glory of receiving training guidance from the great commander, reaffirmed their fiery pledge to firmly prepare themselves as tigers who dominate the core branches and special forces of our military, full of sense of mission to defend the country and revolution, thus powerfully demonstrating the might and immortal reputation of the ever-victorious Korean People's Army.
