The Missile General Bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted a shooting drill on August 23 for the verification of the combat performances of two types of improved new-type anti-aircraft missiles against various targets.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the shooting drill.

Accompanying him were Comrade Jo Chun Ryong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea; Comrade Kim Jong Sik, First Vice Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea; Comrade Kim Kwang Hyok, General of the Air Force and Commander of the Air Force of the Korean People's Army; and Comrade Kim Yong Hwan, President of the Academy of National Defense Science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Through the shooting drill, it was evaluated that the new-type anti-aircraft missile weapon system has superior combat responsiveness against various aerial targets including unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles, and its operation and response methods are original and based on unique technology.

In particular, the technical characteristics of the two types of improved missiles were recognized as highly suitable for the destruction of various aerial targets.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth important tasks that our national defense science research sector must carry out ahead of the Party Congress.
