Chairman Kim Jong Un guides combined striking drill of KPA units

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided a combined striking drill of units of the People's Army on February 28.

The drill was seen by senior officials of the Party Central Committee.

The drill was aimed at judging the manoeuvrability and firepower striking capacity of defence units on the front and in the eastern region and practising the command of combined strike of the services.

Comrade Kim Jong Un mounted the observation post and guided the drill.

He expressed admiration at the fighting efficiency of units of services and defence units on the front and in the eastern region fully ready to go into battle right away no matter when and at what moment the order may be issued. He sent militant greetings and special thanks of the Commander-in-Chief to the entire service personnel who took part in the drill.

He expressed a firm belief that the People's Army infinitely loyal to the Party's call would constantly increase its combat capabilities and firmly guarantee the revolutionary cause of Juche and the victorious advance of socialism with invincible military muscle.

Chairman Kim Jong Un guides firepower striking drill of KPA long-range artillery sub-units on front

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the venue of firepower striking drill of long-range artillery sub-units of the Korean People's Army on the front on March 2 and kindled fiercer flames of intensive training.

He was greeted on the spot by Army General Pak Jong Chon, Chief of the General Staff of the KPA, and commanding personnel and artillery commanding officers of the large combined unit that took part in the drill.

At the observation post, he heard a report on the plan of the drill before guiding it.

When his order was issued to the sub-units, the long-range artillerymen on the front opened fire for annihilating the enemy.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction at the artillerymen ready to promptly respond to any circumstances and perfectly carry out their firepower combat tasks.

He said that the ardent patriotism of service personnel is expressed in the sweat they shed in the training ground rain or shine and warmly encouraged all the officers and men of the whole army to intensify the training with iron will and burning patriotism to impregnably defend the socialist motherland which is more precious than their lives.

Saying that the victory of the socialist cause is guaranteed by powerful military muscle and war deterrent, Kim Jong Un called on the People's Army to maintain full military preparedness and steadily increase its combat efficiency so that no one can touch the sky, land and sea of the motherland and to support the revolutionary cause of the Party.

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the firepower striking drill of long-range artillery sub-units of the Korean People's Army on the front again on March 9.

The drill was aimed at checking a surprise military counter-striking capacity of the long-range artillery units on the front. 

At the observation post, Kim Jong Un gave combat conditions to the Chief of the General Staff of the KPA and watched the drill.

When an order of fire was given, the artillerymen on the front, who have been whetting sharper the bayonets of the revolution in high spirit of annihilating the enemy through the flames of intensive training for the strengthening of combat capability kindled by the respected supreme leader Kim Jong Un, opened fire for annihilating the enemy in salvo.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the result of the drill and highly appreciated the long-range artillery sub-units of the KPA on the front for their perfect operational mobilization posture.

He said that the KPA should continuously intensify the drill of artillerymen and set forth important tasks to raise the quality of the drill of artillerymen in an atmosphere of real war.  

He said the might of artillery is precisely that of the KPA and stressed the need to put it as the most important task for the line of building a Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces to strengthen the artillery force of the People's Army into the world's strongest branch of the service feared by everyone and continuously struggle to carry it out.

Chairman Kim Jong Un guides firing match between artillery units under 7th and 9th Corps of KPA

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided a firing match between artillery units under the 7th and 9th Corps of the Korean People's Army on March 12.

The firing match was aimed at inspecting and judging all of a sudden and by choice the combat readiness of the artillery force of the corps that are implementing the line of the WPK on strengthening the artillery force put forward at the Fourth Meeting of Artillerymen of the Korean People's Army to awaken all the artillery force once again and at kindling a spark of waging a more dynamic struggle to fundamentally improve the forms, contents and methods of training of artillerymen and conducting drills under the simulated conditions of actual war.

The match was held in the way of deciding victory and defeat by firing at an island target with guns of different calibres at the corps according to firing order fixed by lottery before summing up the results of firing and the time taken for carrying out firing tasks.

At the observation post, Kim Jong Un heard the report on the order and method of the firing match before guiding it.

According to his instruction, the commanders of the corps commanded the artillery fire at the observation post.

As the commanders ordered firing, the target island turned into the sea of flames in an instant.

The Chief of the General Staff reported the assessment of the General Staff on the result of the match to Kim Jong Un.

Comrade Kim Jong Un appreciated the militant enthusiasm and attitude of the brave artillerymen who took part in the firing match of the corps organized and held unexpectedly and explained once again about the requirement of the Party for making a constant study of the forms and methods of training of artillerymen and conducting the drills under the simulated conditions of actual war.

He said:

For all the artillerymen to have high manoeuvrability and striking ability, it will be good to normalize similar trainings and organize matches between the corps very often in the future to foster the competitive spirit of all service personnel ranging from the commanding officers to the soldiers. The General Staff should often organize similar trainings and then, the commanding officers of all the military forces will be able to have a good understanding of the Party's idea on attaching importance to the artillerymen, develop their military judgment of use of artillerymen and master the artillery tactics and firing.

As I always stress, the result of firing in training is not a mere probability of hitting but a reflection of the viewpoint, stand and attitude of the commanding officers and soldiers toward the training-first policy of the Party and a criterion showing the high loyalty to the Party, the people and the country. The artillerymen should keep deep in their hearts the trust and expectation of the Party that the might of the artillerymen is that of the People's Army and turn out as one in the struggle to steadily strengthen their fighting efficiency.

The 7th Corps of the KPA won an overwhelming victory over the 9th Corps in the firing match of artillery pieces of all calibres.

General Pak Jong Chon, Chief of the General Staff of the KPA, awarded the diplomas, medals and badges of crack shot to the artillery battalions and companies under the 7th Corps that got excellent marks in the firing match.

Comrade Kim Jong Un hoped that the training would be an occasion of awakening all the artillery force of the People's Army once again and nearly matching their enthusiasm for training and competitive spirit, and put forward important military tasks to further strengthen the Juche artillery force.
