Comrade Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Wednesday.

The message congratulated the president and the friendly government and people of Syria on the 73rd anniversary of its independence.

It wished the Syrian government and people successes in the struggle for defending the sovereignty and security of the country and achieving the stability and development under the leadership of the president, expressing belief that the historic friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger.
