Korean War: Ironclad Proof U.S. Imperialism is Aggression’s Root

On June 25, 1950, U.S. imperialism, crazed with world domination ambitions, finally imposed brutal war on our people. Our fledgling Republic, born just two years prior, faced a three-year life-or-death showdown against imperialist allied forces.

This war brought our people immeasurable misery, suffering, and colossal human/material losses, leaving never-healing wounds. U.S. imperialism mobilized one-third of its army, one-fifth of its air force, most of its Pacific Fleet, and over 2 million troops from puppet states. It squandered over $20 billion in military spending and 7.3+ million tons of supplies—11 times Pacific War expenditures.

Militarily and technologically, the U.S.-Korea matchup was unimaginably disproportionate. A Soviet journalist during the war noted: "If WWII pitted great armies and allied nations, the Korean War pitted world domination-seeking great armies against a fledgling nation’s clean army—a confrontation defying common sense."

In this unparalleled disproportionate war, our army and people defeated U.S. imperialism—boasting "world’s strongest"—defended the homeland’s dignity and sovereignty, and safeguarded world peace, security, and humanity’s future with blood.

The Korean War indisputably proved: U.S. imperialism is aggression’s root, not peace’s guardian.

U.S. imperialism posed as "liberator" and "peace guardian" during and post-WWII, propagandizing "achievements" defeating fascist Germany and militarist Japan, "saving" planetary peace and human civilization.

But the Korean War exposed U.S. imperialism as the most vicious aggressor, peace’s enemy, and a bloodthirsty beast.

The U.S. was born an aggressor, peace-shatterer, and blood-enjoying beast. Public records show: From founding to WWI, the U.S. launched 114 wars of aggression and 8,900+ military interventions. War birthed the U.S.; war sustained it.

Many nations/peoples endured colonial slavery under U.S. guns. Fattened on their blood and suffering, the U.S. emerged as imperialism’s chieftain and initiated the Korean War for world domination.

Never defeated in aggressive war, U.S. imperialism boasted it would occupy Korea swiftly. This was step one in expanding its dominion over the entire Korean Peninsula and launching WWII to dominate the world.

U.S. imperialism sought to shatter the peaceful environment in Korea, China, the USSR, and others, subjugating the world. Korea—advancing dynamically as newly independent nations’ vanguard—was primary.

U.S. book Secret History of the Korean War states:
"Korea was centuries-old strategic crossroads: To Japan, a pistol pointed from Asia; to China, Japan’s historical invasion bridgehead; to America, the most crucial link in the 'containment' ring strangling communism’s further spread."

U.S. Far East Commander MacArthur confessed: "I always regarded Korea as a military outpost of immense value... Mastering all Korea would shatter the sole supply line linking Soviet Siberia and the south, dominate all areas between Vladivostok and Singapore... Nowhere would escape our might."

U.S. imperialism planned meticulously: Step 1—Korean invasion; Step 2—Expand to China’s Manchuria; Step 3—Invade the USSR ("Plan A, B, C," 1948–1950).

It spared no means. U.S. President Truman issued nuclear blackmail statements; declared a "national emergency" to prepare for WWII. Eisenhower considered atomic bombing Korea/Northeast China (30–50 bombs) three times.

These facts prove: U.S. imperialism provoked the Korean War to obstruct sovereign states’ peaceful development and dominate the world, even recklessly using nuclear weapons.

Calling Korea "a battleground where America’s Asian successes depended," U.S. imperialism invaded progressive Korea, ruthlessly destroying and plundering. War explosions replaced peaceful songs; our people endured unbearable misery.

U.S. imperialism revealed itself as murderer and destroyer:
"...Even if children or elders are before you, your hands must not tremble. Kill! Thus save yourselves and fulfill UN soldiers’ duty," they ranted, committing all atrocities.

They shot, beat, and burned innocent people; tore babies from mothers’ bosoms and burned them alive—medieval barbarity. They indiscriminately dropped banned germ and chemical bombs. Humanity wailed: "This war opposes life itself!"

U.S. imperialism indiscriminately bombed Korea into wasteland. U.S. commander Clark ordered "operations to completely erase 78 cities from the map," boasting "sweep Korea clean."

Pyongyang alone endured 428,000+ bombs—more than its population—reducing it to rubble. U.S. air force sorties (800,000+), naval/marine sorties (250,000+), and bombs dropped (3.7× more than on Japan) averaged 18 bombs/km²—indiscriminate horror.

Millions of innocent Koreans perished.

The Korean War became a life-or-death battle between righteous peace defenders and vicious aggressors/murderers/destroyers.

Our army and people, displaying sublime patriotism, mass heroism, and peerless bravery, fought bloodily, forcing aggressors to kneel and averting imminent nuclear war, safeguarding world peace.

Military analysts note: WWI (38 nations, $400 billion losses, 10 million dead); WWII (72 nations, $4 trillion, 50 million dead); a third war would be global catastrophe. Foreign media reported Truman planned to nuke Korea, China, and the USSR—annihilating 700 million.

Though U.S. imperialism brandished "immediate atomic use" ultimatums whenever battered, our people and soldiers neither feared nor yielded.

Our great victory forced U.S. imperialism to swallow defeat, breaking warmongers’ spirit. The "great" American empire—wearing "mightiness" like a golden hat—embarked on a pathetic decline.

U.S. imperialism suffered military losses nearly 2.3× its Pacific War losses.

Without Korea’s victory, nuclear holocaust might have swept the world—fiery deluge upon humanity before WWII’s ashes cooled.

Our victory’s significance in preemptively preventing global nuclear war and safeguarding peace is truly colossal.

History will eternally inscribe heroic Korea’s immortal contribution and feats to world peace protection in golden letters.

Western Historical Distortion Denounced

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova denounced Western historical distortion attempts in a June 21 statement marking the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. The statement exposed Western attempts to equally blame fascist Germany and the USSR for the war’s outbreak. Such attempts are absolutely unacceptable and insult millions of Soviet citizens sacrificed fighting fascism. The statement emphasized: "Crimes by Nazis and accomplices have no statute of limitations."

Protests Condemn Israeli Aggression

Foreign ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states condemned Israeli aggression against regional countries in a June 22 declaration. It urged halting Israel’s attacks on Iran, warning that Zionist recklessness gravely endangers regional residents’ lives, economic stability, and environment. The declaration called Israel’s military actions in Gaza "massacres of civilians" demanding an urgent permanent ceasefire. Israel’s actions against Syria, Lebanon, and Iran violently violate sovereignty, security, and international law; the international community must act to curb them.

Active Efforts for Ecological Protection

Earth’s ecology—the "blue planet"—is severely damaged. Global average temperature surpassed the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C limit, risking irreversible ecosystem collapse. Glaciers—vital for water—are melting rapidly worldwide. Since 2000, Europe’s Alps lost nearly 40% of glaciers. Over 400 million hectares of forests vanished globally in 30+ years; many regions are desertifying. Disasters and food crises worsen.

The World Economic Forum (February) projected climate change could reduce global rice yields by 15% by 2050.

Many countries actively protect ecology:

  • Uzbekistan declared 2025 "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy," ensuring balanced development.

  • Vietnam announced new measures: Transition all thermal plants to clean energy/carbon capture by 2050.

  • Sri Lanka (2023 national goal: clean environment) focuses on preserving ecosystems/biodiversity and increasing forest cover. Plans 1,000 acres of new forests.

  • Brunei minimizes industrial CO2 emissions; encourages renewable energy (e.g., 48,000kW solar plant).

  • Malta plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 41% vs. 2005 levels by 2030.

  • Maldives aims to plant 2 million trees in 2025 to protect biodiversity against climate change.

  • Kyrgyzstan established a 792,000+ hectare protected area in the east to preserve rare species. Pesticides/radioactive waste disposal banned.

  • Kenya promotes electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce emissions; offers incentives and expands charging stations. EV numbers rose 40%+ in 2024.

  • Santiago, Chile, promotes electric buses to cut emissions; plans to add 1,800 EVs by year-end.

Ecological protection safeguards human survival. No nation is exempt. Experts urge all countries to strive actively to bequeath a healthy Earth.

Chartist Movement

A mass political struggle by British workers (1830s–1850s) to realize the People’s Charter. It marked the highest stage in the working-class revolutionary struggle before Marxism.

The movement arose from sharpened class contradictions post-Industrial Revolution—workers protesting capitalist oppression, political disenfranchisement, and power monopoly by landlords/big bourgeoisie.

Organized struggle began with the London Working Men’s Association’s founding (1836). The association drafted a program demanding universal suffrage, secret ballot, etc., publishing it as the People’s Charter (May 1838). "Chartism" derived from People’s Charter. Participants were "Chartists."

Chartists propagated the Charter through demonstrations and meetings. The Chartist National Association (July 1840)—the first mass workers’ party—was founded.

Chartists petitioned parliament three times (1839–1848), including a 3.3 million-signature petition (1842) demanding tax cuts and social reforms. Authorities rejected all. Strikes and riots erupted but were suppressed. Left-wing Chartists’ armed uprising attempts failed.

Most leaders were arrested by 1848; the August Chartist uprising was crushed. The movement weakened; reformist factions emerged. Left-wing Chartists, supported by Marx and Engels, struggled to restore Chartism on socialist foundations. They adopted a new program (1851) demanding workers’ political dominance and nationalized land/banks.

Chartists joined strike movements, combining economic/political struggle, and convened a Workers’ Parliament (1854). But bourgeois schemes nurturing labor aristocracy to divide the working class and reformist influences ended Chartism by the 1850s.
