Party Organizations Must Ensure Perfection in Work to Cope with Disastrous Weather

At this time when heavy rains accompanied by downpours are forecast in many regions, an extremely heavy responsibility, which no one can substitute, is placed before the Party organizations.

Every moment and every second now demands that all Party organizations deeply reconsider the weight carried by the two letters of the word "responsibility" and ensure perfection in the work to cope with disastrous weather.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as follows:

"The success or failure of the work of the relevant sector or unit entirely depends on how the Party organizations perform their functions and role."

Firmly safeguarding the well-being of the people is the original duty of Party organizations.

As in all work, the proactive and responsible role of Party organizations is crucial in protecting the lives and safety of the people and the nation's wealth from the damage caused by increasingly severe disastrous weather, and it is precisely here that the raison d'être of Party organizations lies.

The Party has emphasized not just once or twice the need to correctly establish countermeasures to minimize damage from disastrous weather.

While many Party organizations now accurately grasp the importance and urgency of this work and are substantively waging the struggle to thoroughly cope with disastrous abnormal weather phenomena, there are still not a few Party organizations that have yet to break free from chronic and perfunctory attitudes.

The fact that many Party organizations were able to reliably protect the lives and property of the people in their regions and units even amidst extreme disastrous weather was by no means because funds, materials, machinery, or anything else were ample. It is related to the fact that Party organizations correctly guided the officials to deeply realize why they are needed and for whom they must fight even at the cost of their lives, enabling them to display boundless responsibility and devotion on the path to protecting the people's lives and property.

In contrast, looking at regions and units where serious consequences occurred due to failure to substantively conduct the work of coping with disastrous weather, the fundamental cause lies in the Party organizations' failure to instill in the officials a firm resolve to protect the safety of the people's lives with their own.

The trust of the people is powerfully safeguarded not by the lofty lines or phrases of meeting minutes, but by the devoted struggle of Party organizations and Party officials.

The struggle of Party organizations to minimize damage from disastrous weather is directly linked to the successful guarantee of this year's struggle for accelerating the overall development of national rejuvenation.

Now, following the torch of miraculous production increase raised by the working class of the Sangwon Cement Complex, innovations and upswings are occurring in various sectors of the people's economy, and of course, brilliant achievements are being made in all aspects of socialist construction, including the construction of modern rural housing and local industry factories.

If Party organizations fail to ensure perfection in the work to cope with disastrous weather, all those achievements will come to naught and the steps of advance will be slowed by that much.

In a word, it can be said that how the struggle to cope with disastrous weather is organized and waged and how excellent the results it brings are serves as a touchstone verifying the combat capability of a Party organization.

Party organizations at all levels must be evaluated on their combat capability and activity as the political staff headquarters responsible for all work in their regions and units through the struggle to cope with disastrous weather.

It is most important to align one's heart and breath with the sacred traces of the respected Comrade General Secretary's devotion to the people.

Emulating the sublime appearance of the respected Comrade General Secretary, who treasures each and every one of our people like his own flesh and continues the path of devotion, the entire process of the struggle to cope with disastrous weather must be transformed into a process of manifesting genuine, fervent love and justice towards the people.

It must be taken as a foregone conclusion that floods, downpours, and storms could hit one's own region and unit causing damage, and even the smallest elements that could pose a risk to the safety of the people's lives must all be found and urgently rectified by mobilizing all reserves, possibilities, and potential.

Starting with the Party responsible officials, they must foresee even the worst situations and ensure the safety of the people's lives through seamless operations and command on the spot.

The struggle to cope with disastrous weather is an ideological struggle.

A propaganda and agitation offensive of various forms and methods, such as persuasive explanatory talks, propaganda by mobile broadcasting vehicles, and activities of mobile art agitation teams, must be launched so that the masses fully understand the importance and significance of the struggle to cope with disastrous weather and step forward masterfully.

Complacency and relaxation are the greatest enemies in today's struggle.

Party organizations must wage a high-intensity struggle against phenomena such as being complacent or employing expediency in the work to minimize damage from downpours and floods, based on the premise that nothing much has happened so far in their region or unit and being trapped in the wrong viewpoint of "maybe" or "that much should be enough." Thereby, everyone must be made to stubbornly defend their beloved hometown, workplace, streets, and villages with endless loyalty and pure patriotism.

The role of Party organizations in the agricultural sector must be maximized.

Officials, Party members, and farm workers must be made to be tense and vigilant so that the farm crops they have cultivated with sweat so far are not submerged, and even if unavoidably flooded, they must be put in a fully prepared posture to take timely countermeasures. On the other hand, Party organizations in various sectors of the people's economy, including coal and ore mines, must also ensure that the masses vigorously push production while firmly maintaining a high sense of crisis response.

All Party organizations must ensure perfection in the work to cope with disastrous weather, thereby reliably guaranteeing the victorious advance towards the glorious Party Congress.

Party Cell Secretaries Whom the Masses Follow

Pride and Reward Found in Devotion

Comrade Ri Ok Sil, Party Cell Secretary of Tailoring Workshop No. 1 at the Yomju Unha Clothing Factory, is an excellent primary Party official respected and followed by many people.

Last April, an additional urgent task was placed before the factory. Since time was absolutely insufficient compared to the workload, everyone became tense. And rightly so, as manpower was also very lacking due to various circumstances.

At such a time, the Party cell secretary stepped forward without hesitation.

If our Party members take on double or triple roles, what would be impossible?

The Party cell secretary heightened the atmosphere of the work site with skillful workmanship. While responsibly performing her assigned tasks, she devoted even lunch breaks and after-work hours, struggling fiercely to prevent the process from falling behind. Inspired by the Party cell secretary's leading by example, immersing herself in work without a moment's rest, the Party members and employees within the cell all strove hard. In fact, people did not know that at that time, the Party cell secretary was concentrating on her work while hiding that an illness she had suffered from for a long time had flared up.

Like this, Comrade Ri Ok Sil never spared herself whenever difficult tasks confronted the unit.

It was the same when new employees entered the work team. Although she was more pressed for time than anyone, she took the new workers under her wing herself and strove day and night to raise their technical skill levels.

Therefore, the place where she is is always bustling with many people, and even when urgent tasks are presented, the employees are bolstering their confidence because she is there.

Because there are such Party cell secretaries who find pride and reward as primary Party officials in taking on difficult tasks and more work than others and devoting themselves, the combat capability and unity of the collective are only increasing day by day.

The Most Powerful Weapon - Sincerity

Comrade Han Kyong Ok, Party Cell Secretary of Hoichang Senior Middle School in Hoichang County, has worked as a primary Party official for the past 18 years, using sincerity as a powerful weapon for mass education.

It was a few years ago when Comrade Chol could not come to work for a while due to illness.

Vice-Principal Comrade Han Kyong Ok, even amidst busyness, sometimes visited his home carrying various foodstuffs, and sometimes visited him with precious medicinal herbs. Sometimes with cell Party members, sometimes with teachers from the branch, Comrade Chol, inspired by the sincerity of the Party cell secretary who often visited his home, pulled together his weakened mind and devoted himself sincerely to treatment. The person who deeply understood Comrade Chol's feelings of wanting to stand before his beloved lectern as soon as possible was the Party cell secretary. According to the organizational work of the Party cell, Comrade Chol started coming to work every morning with the help of teachers, and in the process of teaching students and instructing new teachers on teaching methods, he regained vitality and today has become an excellent teacher respected by the entire school.

There is also a story about Comrade Kim. At one time, he did not receive the trust of the teachers due to shortcomings in his character. In the process of often sitting together with Comrade Kim, the Party cell secretary, who learned the reason he did not get along well with people, made efforts to guide him better.

Once, Comrade Kim was to participate in a sports event conducted by the county, but an unexpected thing happened. Although he had soccer skills, he was prone to unnecessary moodiness, so the concerned officials decided to exclude him. Comrade Han Kyong Ok, who went to see the officials, earnestly requested that they definitely let him participate in the event, saying that his education would be taken care of by the Party cell. Seeing that appearance, Comrade Kim felt great remorse and later participated in the event, solidly playing a part in raising the county's honor without betraying the Party organization's expectations.

Because she is Comrade Han Kyong Ok, who guides with a warm, sincere hand, every teacher affectionately calls her "our Party cell secretary" and follows her.

Until Improvement Was Brought in Logistical Work

Logistical work is one of the important political tasks that inspires the masses towards the implementation of Party policy. Everyone knows this, but the state of building the logistical foundation and its operation is not exactly the same in every unit. Why does such a difference arise?

The answer to that can be found in the work of the Sub-Primary Party Committee of the Songwon County Party School, which has brought distinct improvement in logistical supply work for faculty, staff, and students in recent years.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as follows:

"Logistical work is precisely political work and an important guarantee for production growth."

It was an event from two years ago when the school was supplying logistical materials to faculty and staff. They received materials to supply to faculty and staff from a certain unit, and upon seeing this, the newly started Sub-Primary Party official had many thoughts.

It was grateful, of course, that county officials always showed concern, and that some units sincerely supported them.

However, the Sub-Primary Party official saw that despite having an already established logistical base at the school, failing to vitalize it and relying almost entirely on external sources for material supply to faculty and staff was a problem that must be corrected.

Eventually, strengthening the logistical foundation was set as an important goal of the Sub-Primary Party Committee.

But there was an obstacle to its realization. It was the wrong viewpoint of some people who saw strengthening the logistical foundation as a difficult task requiring much effort and thought it was only possible with external help.

The Sub-Primary Party Committee believed that to correct this viewpoint, it was important to first produce clear results. Setting livestock promotion as the first-stage goal, the Sub-Primary Party Committee carried out construction to rebuild the livestock shed while steadily pushing forward with the work of procuring livestock of excellent breeds.

As a result, a livestock foundation was established in a short period.

However, this did not completely eliminate the viewpoint of looking to others.

The Sub-Primary Party Committee turned deep attention to the operation of the dining hall and logistical supply work so that the masses could actually experience the benefits of strengthening the livestock foundation.

From this time, people's views on the work of establishing their own logistical foundation began to change.

Gaining confidence from this, the Sub-Primary Party Committee called the masses to the work of promoting sideline crop farming.

As the work to vitalize the logistical foundation was fully launched, there were not few shortcomings, including labor, but the Sub-Primary Party Committee ensured that no phenomenon of reaching out to county-level organs or support organizations appeared.

This was so that everyone could gain experience through the process of strengthening the logistical foundation with their own strength, enabling them to push this work forward with confidence and without deviation in the future. Through this process, the school firmly established its own logistical foundation that could contribute to the material and cultural life of faculty, staff, and students.

Using the logistical foundation built in this way, the school provides teachers and students with abundant meals and even supplies snacks during breaks in teaching and learning, further raising their work enthusiasm and learning enthusiasm.

Whether the work of building and vitalizing the logistical foundation goes well or not is by no means a problem related to favorable or unfavorable conditions.

If only the viewpoint on logistical work is correct, sure results can be achieved in any unit. The work of this Sub-Primary Party Committee proves that.

Young people in the agricultural sector are also waging the grain production increase struggle powerfully and achieving results.

The youth sub-workteam of the Namjong Farm under the South Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economy Committee increased the wheat cultivation area by 1.3 times compared to last year, supplied over 20 tons of high-quality homemade fertilizer per jongbo, and strived with all strength to farm using scientific cultivation methods, producing over 6 tons of wheat per jongbo and contributing much patriotic rice.

The youth workteam of the Ryongnim Farm in Mundok County raised the utilization rate of agricultural machines, conducted crop cultivation management scientifically and technologically, and substantively conducted socialist competition for fulfilling the plan by farming process, harvesting a quantity of unhusked grain corresponding to 1.7 times the plan; the youth sub-workteam of the Soljae Farm in Sonchon County also conducted crop cultivation management scientifically and technologically with deep care, producing 7 tons of wheat per jongbo.

Because there are such reliable young people who firmly believe that there is precious glory of youth on the path of practicing the Party's conception and determination and engrave every moment with loyalty and feats, the tomorrow of the prosperous country is being further accelerated.
