Registered in the history of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle in Korea is the Xiaohaerbaling Meeting which presented a strategic line on actively greeting the great event of national liberation. Researcher Pak Jong Ho at the Korean Revolution Museum says:
In the 1940s the Japanese imperialists mobilized huge armed forces into "suppressing" the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, calculating that they could not win victory in the Sino-Japanese War and realize the ambition of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" without destroying the Korean People's Revolutionary Army. The prevailing situation urgently demanded a new strategic line of revolution. In order to go over to a new strategic step in the revolutionary struggle, it was necessary to make the correctest option to hasten the final victory on the basis of the calculation of our own force and a scientific analysis on the past struggle. To change the line, the Great Leader At that time we had our own hardcore force that could carry out the task of new strategic stage with success. In particular, the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was firmly prepared both politically and ideologically and in military technique. Pak Jong Ho continues:
Upon the new strategic line put forward by him, soldiers of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army were full of confidence in victory and spirit to annihilate the enemy. Many small units and groups boldly fought a mobile warfare everywhere they went at home and in Manchuria, dealing a serious political and military blow at the enemy.
Indeed, the Xiaohaerbaling Meeting was a turning point that developed the anti-Japanese armed struggle into a new strategic stage for final victory; it was a historic meeting that marked a turning point in making full preparations for final decisive battle against the Japanese imperialists and for successfully building a new society in the liberated country.
