On March 18, the Embassy of Korea in Russia hosted a reception on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on Economic and Cultural Cooperation between Korea and the Russian Federation. Invited to the reception were Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Comrade Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Sports Comrade Mikhail Degtyarev, figures from the parliament, government and organizations of Russia, including the State Duma, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Health, and the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with Korea which is part of the DPRK International Solidarity Group. Attending the reception were Comrade Ri Yong Jin, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of Korea in Russia, and staff members of the Embassy. First, the participants laid a wreath and bouquets of flowers before a photo display of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and paid their respects. Then they viewed photo materials dedicated to the priceless revolutionary life and exploits of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, the undying exploits of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the development of Korean-Russian friendly relations, the immortal classical works of the great leaders, and photographs showing the mighty power and development of our homeland. Speeches were made at the reception. Chargé d'affaires ad interim Ri Yong Jin said that Korean-Russian relations have reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and unbreakable allied relations under the strategic leadership of the heads of the two countries, and mentioned the need to strengthen bilateral exchange and cooperation at the practical stage to implement the agreements reached at the historic summits. Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov for his part stressed that after the signing of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in Pyongyang on June 19, 2024, relations between the two countries have risen to a new high level. According to him, cooperation will continue to strengthen in all areas through joint efforts. Russian Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev stated that Russia's position of fully supporting the struggle of the Korean people to defend their independence, sovereignty and the country's right to development will remain unchanged in the future. He also expressed confidence that mutual cooperation in the field of sports will contribute to the development of sports in the two countries and the strengthening of friendly relations between them.
