On June 14, a historic meeting was held in Serbia. At the center of attention was1 the legendary encounter between the Comrade Kim Il Sung, Great Leader of the DPRK, and Marshal Josip Broz Tito, President of Yugoslavia, during his visit to the DPRK in 1977—a moment that became a symbol of international anti-imperialist unity and solidarity among the peoples.

The meeting marked a new step in the revival of the movement of international solidarity with the DPRK on the territory of the former Yugoslavia and particularly in Serbia, grounded in the ideals of independence and justice.

Attending the event were Comrade Christopher Helali, Deputy Director of the 1st Department of Public Diplomacy and Head of the North American Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG; Comrade Aleksandar Đenić, Head of the Serbian Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG; Comrade Ilija Živković, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee; as well as activists Mateja Grujičić, Miloš Karavezić, and Vukašin Žunić.

The participants emphasized the importance of further study of the heroic history of the DPRK, its policy of independence, and the Juche idea which has inspired progressive peoples of the world in their struggle against imperialism and for national sovereignty.

As a result of the meeting, it was unanimously decided to establish the Serbian Executive Committee of the DPRK International Solidarity Group.

The meeting concluded with the adoption of a plan for future activities aimed at strengthening ties with Korea, including educational lectures, exhibitions, and other cultural events.

This landmark occasion stands as yet another vivid expression of firm brotherhood and international solidarity with the heroic Korean people who, under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, courageously defend the sovereignty of their homeland.
