February 8 is the founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army, regular revolutionary armed forces of Korea.

In December Juche 68 (1979) the 19th Plenary Meeting of the Fifth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea adopted a decision on convening the Sixth Congress of the Party in October Juche 69 (1980) marking the 35th founding anniversary of the Party.

Registered in the history of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle in Korea is the Xiaohaerbaling Meeting which presented a strategic line on actively greeting the great event of national liberation.

During the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War, the Great Leader Kim Il Sung organized and led the entire Korean people to the victory in the war, finding himself on the forefront.

The Great Leader Kim Jong Il started to work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on June 19, Juche 53 (1964).

April 15 is the significant Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
Kim Il Sung was born in Mangyongdae on April 15, Juche 1 (1912) and devoted his all only to the country and people.
His lifelong motto was to believe in the people as in heaven.
He continued his field guidance all his life, regarding the service for the people as his greatest pride.
His love and devotion for the people were witnessed in all parts of the country ranging from coal-mine and mine villages in the northern end to a farm village near the Military Demarcation Line and from a small port on the east coast to an isolated island on the West Sea.

Whenever April comes, the Korean people celebrate the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung) as their greatest national holiday.
