On May 9, a working meeting was held between Comrade Sergey Baburin, President of the International Association of Peace Foundations (IAPF) and Vice President of the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK ISG), and Comrade Dmitry Vasilets, Head of the Ukrainian political party “Derzhava” and Head of the Preparatory Committee for the Restoration of the Ukrainian Solidarity Group with the DPRK, as well as his deputy Comrade Viktor Malafeyev.

The talks were also attended by the Director of the 4th Administrative Department of the DPRK ISG and other responsible officials.

Comrade Vasilets informed the participants in detail about the situation of the party he leads and about the motives that prompt the Ukrainian comrades to develop the solidarity movement with the DPRK. He noted that, despite the severe pressure from the Kiev regime, the “Derzhava” party consistently upholds anti‑imperialist positions and sees Korea as a faithful ally in the fight against neo‑Nazism and the hegemonism of the United States.

It was also mentioned that last year the “Derzhava” party presented a gift to Comrade Kim Yo Jong, head of a department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

During the conversation, Comrade Baburin highly appreciated the steadfastness and loyalty to the principles of internationalism shown by the Ukrainian communists operating in underground conditions. “Your struggle is a continuation of the great traditions of anti‑fascist resistance, and we are glad to support you in restoring the international solidarity movement,” he stressed.

Following the talks, a unanimous decision was taken to establish the Ukrainian Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG and to re‑establish the Ukrainian Solidarity Group with the DPRK in a new composition.

Comrade Dmitry Vasilets was appointed Head of the Ukrainian Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG. Comrade Anna Zorich was appointed responsible for the activities of the International Youth Friendship League (IYFL) in Ukraine.

After the official part of the meeting, the participants watched a short concert dedicated to Victory Day.

The participants expressed confidence that the re‑establishment of the Ukrainian Solidarity Group will contribute to the common struggle against imperialism and neo‑Nazism.
