19:41 We Will Not Allow US Imperialists to Drag the Korean Peninsula into a Third World War! |

— Joint Statement of the DPRK International Solidarity Group and the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform, July 16, 2026 — July is the month when the Korean people and all progressive humanity turn their anger against US imperialism with particular force. From June 25 to July 27, the period marking the outbreak and victorious conclusion of the Korean War (1950–1953), we traditionally hold the Month of Anti‑US Struggle. Today, when the combined forces of US imperialism, led by the United States, are trying to plunge the world into the abyss of a new global conflict, this time of anger and mobilisation acquires a special, epochal resonance. Cynically trampling on elementary norms of international law, the United States and its henchmen turned the recent NATO summit in Ankara into a witches’ sabbath of war. At this criminal gathering, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was once again subjected to vicious attacks: the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea held separate trilateral consultations, where they once again raved about the “complete denuclearisation of the DPRK”. And the NATO Secretary‑General, having completely lost his head from impunity, maliciously encroached upon the legitimate right of sovereign states, including the DPRK, to develop normal interstate relations, and openly proclaimed a course towards expanding the North Atlantic bloc's intervention in the affairs of the Asia‑Pacific region. On behalf of the DPRK International Solidarity Group and the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform, we decisively condemn the barbaric actions of the United States and its satellites, primarily the regime of the Republic of Korea. Their actions are nothing but another attempt to deprive the Korean people of the right to independence and sovereignty, to demonise the socialist power possessing nuclear deterrence, and to justify the build‑up of the military machine. The creation of the so‑called “Asian version of NATO”, the drawing of Japan, Australia and New Zealand into the military‑political orbit of the alliance, the integration of intelligence and offensive systems – all these are links in the same chain of aggression directed against the DPRK, China and Russia. Of particular cynicism is the position of the puppet Republic of Korea, which, hiding behind demagogy about the “need for urgent resumption of inter‑Korean dialogue”, in fact carries out the orders of the Pentagon, expands monstrously large joint military exercises, including the practice of pre‑emptive nuclear strikes, and continues to cling to the fascist National Security Law. The root of all the troubles and sufferings of the Korean nation is US imperialism. Seventy‑three years ago, the United States, under the flag of the UN, unleashed a monstrous aggressive war against the young DPRK. Three years of unprecedented brutality – carpet bombings, napalm, bacteriological weapons, mass executions of civilians in Sinchon – such is the bloody handwriting of the US military. But the Korean people, under the wise leadership of the Great Commander Kim Il Sung, rose up in a sacred war, defended the freedom and independence of their homeland, and on July 27, 1953, won a historic victory. The lesson of that war is immutable: no most modern arsenal of death can break a people armed with the ideas of Juche. Since then, the aggressive nature of US imperialism has not changed. Faced with the loss of global hegemony, the United States and its satellites have resorted to even more desperate actions. And at the centre of this global turbulence, the sovereign DPRK stands as an unbreakable rock. It is precisely its uncompromising position, its powerful nuclear shield created under the leadership of the Great Commander Kim Jong Un, that serves as a reliable guarantee that the fire of war will not spread to the Korean Peninsula. Political independence, economic self‑reliance, self‑reliance in defence – this is a hard‑won reality that we must defend. The DPRK is living proof that even under the yoke of sanctions, a society can be built without unemployment, with free education and healthcare, where the party serves the people. This truth provokes fierce rage among the US imperialists, for it shatters their lies about the “inevitability” of capitalism. The World Anti‑Imperialist Platform and the DPRK International Solidarity Group consider it their duty during this Month of Anti‑US Struggle to tear the masks off the warmongers. The lying claims about “dialogue” serve only as a smoke screen for militarisation, for the expansion of arms supplies and provocative anti‑Korean exercises. Today, as seventy‑three years ago, the question is posed bluntly: either imperialist diktat and wars, or independence, peace and socialism. The anti‑US struggle of the Korean people was and remains the foremost front of this battle. Let the unity of the anti‑imperialist forces grow stronger! Alexander Mostov, |
