Not long ago, a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation was held in Sochi. It was attended by officials of the relevant departments headed by Minister of Labour and Social Protection Comrade Anton Kotyakov, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Russia, and activists of a number of public organizations. Comrade Dmitry Vasilets, Chairman of the “Derzhava” Party and a member of the Central Committee of the DPRK International Solidarity Group, taking part in the meeting by video link, raised the question of ensuring the labour rights of citizens of the Republic who are in Russia, and proposed establishing an interdepartmental working group under the Public Council of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection so as to place the labour rights of citizens of the Republic on an equal footing with those of citizens of other countries. He stressed that this group must strictly control and monitor the observance of the labour rights of citizens of the Republic and must responsibly carry out the work of promptly checking the unlawful actions of unscrupulous employers. He pointed out that today the labour rights of citizens of the Republic are unjustifiably restricted by paragraph 17 of United Nations Security Council resolution 2375, adopted in 2017. Furthermore, he noted, since the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 2020 has entrenched the principle of the priority of domestic law over international law, the situation in which the labour rights of citizens of the Republic are violated should be rectified as soon as possible. He recalled that, when terrorist attacks by Ukrainian neo-Nazis were committed in Kursk Region, the Republic dispatched units of the People's Army to support the Russian forces, thereby setting an example of a truly allied state. In this connection, the “Derzhava” Party and the DPRK International Solidarity Group stated that they would exert every necessary effort to protect the lawful rights and interests of citizens of the Republic. |
