Dear Comrades! Dear Colleagues!
Since the global situation has not improved in the slightest since my previous speech within these walls, but, on the contrary, the most terrible tendencies to aggravate the military situation both on the Korean Peninsula and in Ukraine have prevailed, I will try not to repeat well-known theses and express my thoughts as much as possible. compressed form.
All those present here, I think, are well aware of the dangerous line our countries have now reached. As the unipolar model is finally collapsing along with the hegemony of US imperialism, it is essential to be realistic about the capabilities of our countries so that they are as resilient as possible in the face of global turbulence.
The historical friendly visit of Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and his meeting with Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, which took place in April 2020, in modern conditions should not be perceived as an abstract event that serves as a pretext for another discussion, but as a direct confirmation of the course towards strengthening and the development of Korean-Russian friendship, which continues from generation to generation. We should now, in keeping with the spirit of this April summit, ask ourselves what action would be in the national interests of the two countries?
It seems to me that the answer to this question is obvious, that there is a clear and specific answer that is understandable not only to officials, but also to the citizens of our countries. One can talk for hours about the friendship of peoples, about the prospects for economic cooperation, as well as about the historical events that bind us. But as before, despite the unprecedented strengthening and rise of Korean-Russian relations, there remains for some reason an insurmountable “sanction issue” - a glass ceiling that makes us helplessly shrug and put off plans “until better times”.
Personally communicating with the relevant workers in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as with various entrepreneurs in Russia, I concluded that there is a demand for cooperation with the DPRK. It is huge and covers a huge number of areas, from commodity exchange to at least the work of builders. The problem lies solely in the absolutely unfair sanctions restrictions, which, for some unknown reason, are still observed with an eye to the opinion of the United States and the West.
I am deeply convinced, dear comrades and colleagues, that we should draw a conclusion from the mistakes of the past and by all available means support the early lifting of sanctions against the DPRK as the only right decision. The countries of the "collective West" at the head of the United States do not care who voted for what and when. And let's be honest - it never happened, because history has shown more than once that the true goal of the United States is not to maintain an imaginary "world order", but to dismember and destroy any countries that stand in the way of their expansion.
To develop strategic and traditional Korean-Russian friendly relations at the request of the new era, in accordance with the spirit and letter of the April summit, is our sacred duty to the history and peoples of our two countries. The sooner we manage to realize at the state level that the time in which we live requires not so much loud diplomatic words as decisive actions, the more real prospects we will have.
