On February 28, the President of the International Association of Peace Funds (IAPF) and Vice President of the DPRK International Solidarity Group issued a statement in connection with the attack by the coalition forces of the Zionists on Iran.
Below is the full text of the statement.
No matter how the aggressors label this new attack by Israel and the United States—whether "Lion's Roar," "Frog's Croak," or "Jackal's Howl"—it remains an act of international banditry.
On the morning of February 28, Israel and the United States began launching missile and bomb strikes against Iran. In Tehran, the targets included the residences of the Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the intelligence headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the airport in Tehran. None of Iran's top leaders were harmed.
Explosions also occurred in Isfahan, where one of the nuclear centers is located, as well as in Iran's Lorestan province and the cities of Tabriz, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah.
The stated goal of the airstrikes, according to U.S. President D. Trump, is to undermine Iran's security system and bring about a change in the political regime. It is claimed that the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes will last for at least four days.
Iran, as it had warned, is delivering retaliatory strikes against Israel and U.S. military bases in the region. The U.S. Fifth Fleet Support Center in Bahrain has been subjected to missile attack. Footage of the strike on the U.S. military base in Bahrain, which houses the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet, has been published online. Local media confirm the strike on the U.S. Fifth Fleet Support Center, whose area of responsibility includes the western part of the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. Explosions are audible in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. All Gulf countries are closing their airspace.
The cynical deceitfulness of the aggressors' leadership, who claim their aggression aims to change the political regime in Iran, is astounding. Do they themselves believe this? Or, as with the bluff regarding Iraq in 2003, is this a calculation based on Westerners who have forgotten how to think? War as a business?
The International Association of Peace Funds decisively condemns the aggression of Israel and the United States against Iran, and expresses its solidarity with the leadership and people of Iran.
We call on the UN Security Council to immediately take measures to halt this aggression.
International banditry must not go unpunished!
