On May 14, Comrade Zheng Yutong, President of the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK ISG), issued an appeal to the Kenyan authorities regarding the illegal arrest of members of the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform.

From May 11 to 12, at the Africa‑France summit in Nairobi, Kenya, several key members of the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform were brutally arrested. Many activists from different countries around the world have still not been released by the Kenyan authorities. Even when their comrades went to the police station to negotiate, they were warned by the police with gunshots, seriously threatening their personal safety. All members of the DPRK International Solidarity Group strongly urge the Kenyan authorities to release all international comrades!
The current actions of the Kenyan authorities are extremely shameful and ignorant! From the 19th century, Kenya was subjected to colonisation by imperialist and fascist forces, who plundered your land, exploited your economy and oppressed your nation. Kenya’s independence and freedom were born in the blood of countless pioneers. Today, under the dominance of an unequal world order, Kenya still faces multiple constraints, such as severe wealth disparity and a mountain of government debt. How did such a situation come about? Kenya’s true enemies are US imperialism and the imperialist powers of France and the United Kingdom. As a collective of 130 anti‑imperialist political organisations worldwide, the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform has been tirelessly promoting the anti‑imperialist and anti‑fascist movement of third‑world peoples, including the Kenyan people, for the true owners of this land – the Kenyan people. They continue to fight against neocolonialism for the sake of this land. But you, the Kenyan authorities, continue to act as puppets of imperialism and harm the internationalist fighters who are struggling for independence and freedom. This cannot but make the people of the world feel disgusted.
The DPRK International Solidarity Group will always stand together with the comrades of the World Anti‑Imperialist Platform. On behalf of all members of the DPRK ISG, I call on you to immediately and safely release all international comrades and not allow yourselves to commit a historic crime!
