A reception to mark the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the DPRK embassy in Russia on March 31.

Invited to the reception were Comrade Andrey Klimov, a member of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the All-Russian political party "United Russia", and officials from the Russian government, political parties, parliament and institutions, including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party of Peace and Unity, as well as members of diplomatic missions of various countries in Russia, including Comrade Lu Xiaojun, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese embassy.

Also attending the reception were participants of the International Scientific Conference for Studying the Results of the 9th Congress of the WPK: Comrade Viktor Petrov, Honorary President of the DPRK International Solidarity Group and Chairman of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with Korea; Comrade Alexander Mostov, Director of the 4th Administrative Department of the DPRK ISG; Comrade Christopher Emms, Deputy Director of the Department; Comrade Georgy Dmitriev, Head of the Russian Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG; Comrade Alexander Vorontsov, Head of the Department of Korea and Mongolia of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Comrade Alexander Kiyashchenko, founder of the JoJack movement; and other figures.

Present were Comrade Sin Hong Chol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to Russia, and staff members of the embassy.

The participants first laid a wreath and bouquets of flowers before the photo display on the revolutionary activities of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and paid their respects.

Then they viewed video and photo materials documenting the revolutionary life and exploits of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, the exploits of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the development of Korean-Russian friendly relations, the immortal classical works of the great leaders, as well as photos showing the invincible might and proud development of our homeland.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Comrade Sin Hong Chol mentioned that the 9th Party Congress, reflecting the sacred and firm convictions and will, the unanimous intention and aspiration of the entire nation, once again held the great Kim Jong Un at the highest post of the Workers' Party of Korea.

He stressed that our Party would strengthen coordination and cooperation with various political parties in Russia, including the "United Russia" party, thereby actively contributing to the further consolidation and development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Comrade Andrey Klimov said that the re-election of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea is an event that once again demonstrates the continuity of generations and promises a bright future for the two countries.

He noted that under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Korean people, both in the past and today, have achieved great successes despite all kinds of obstructive maneuvers by imperialism and other evil forces, and that Korea is now confidently advancing forward.

The participants of the International Scientific Conference presented Comrade Sin Hong Chol with gifts prepared by the Russian Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG and the Leningrad cell of the JoJack movement.
