Commemorative events marking the 2nd anniversary of the historic DPRK-Russia Pyongyang summit and the signing of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation were held in Russia from the 11th to the 24th.

Present there were personages from the government, parliament, parties, organizations and institutions of Russia and members of our country's mission in this country.

Speeches were delivered at the events.

At a commemorative seminar attended by personages from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Academy of Sciences, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and the DPRK International Solidarity Group, speakers highly praised that the great leaders of the Korean people Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il opened up the beginnings of DPRK-Russia friendly relations and made immortal contributions to their strengthening and development, and that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, inheriting the cause of the preceding leaders, is an outstanding leader who has sublimated and developed DPRK-Russia friendly relations onto a new higher stage.

They stressed that Russia will never forget that Korea provided powerful support in the most difficult time, that DPRK-Russia friendship is invincible friendship tested by the passage of time, that Korea showed a living example of treaty implementation not with words but with practice, and that no obstructive manoeuvres by any external forces can undermine DPRK-Russia friendship.

They said that the operation to liberate the Kursk Region powerfully demonstrated the stand of the two countries to defend justice and fight against the threat of neo-Nazism to the whole world, and that the soldiers of the Korean People's Army displayed matchless bravery and heroism in this sacred war and made a decisive contribution to the liberation and rehabilitation of the Kursk Region, and expressed their will to actively work for the development of DPRK-Russia friendly relations.

A congratulatory message addressed to the respected General Secretary Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the events.
