On December 17, Juche 100 (2011), at 8:30 am, Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), National Defense Commission (NDC) and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA), died from a sudden illness.

As this mournful day approaches, the hearts of all progressive people of the world are filled with the deepest grief over the loss of an outstanding revolutionary who defended and glorified socialism at the turn of the century. In such an environment, an international round table "Kim Jong Il: Immortal Memory of the Leader" was held, timed to coincide with the 11th anniversary of his untimely death.

This round table, held jointly by the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK ISG) and the Komsomol of the Russian Federation from November 24 to 27, was distinguished by its wide scale. Figures from Russia, China, Germany and Spain took part in it, expressing solidarity with the just cause of the Korean people and wishing to commemorate the Leader with a kind word.

On November 24, a funeral meeting was held in St. Petersburg (Russia). Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee and Head of the Executive Committee of the Russian DPRK SG, together with Nikita Dobrov, Secretary of the Komsomol (St. Petersburg), Regional Secretary of the DPRK ISG in the Russian Federation, were responsible for organizing the event.

Speeches and reports were made by members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Komsomol and the Russian DPRK SG, including Comrades Roman Kononenko, Yegor Mikhailov, Vladislav Karlov, Gleb Targonsky, Rina Turkova and Vladislav Yarnykh.

Members of the Chinese DPRK SG, the Society for the Study of Juche Ideas in the Altai Republic (SSJIAR) as part of the DPRK ISG, the German Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG, and representatives of the KFA in Spain sent their video messages and words of welcome.

Comrade Nikita Dobrov noted the important role Comrade Kim Jong Il has in the international communist movement. He emphasized that the cause of Comrade Kim Jong Il is highly valued by both the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and its Komsomol organization, and stated that it is very important for the St. Petersburg City Committee of the Komsomol of the Russian Federation to hold a commemorative event in his honor at the highest level.

In turn, Comrade Alexander Mostov expressed his deepest condolences to the Korean people on behalf of all the Temporary and Permanent Executive Committees of our organization, after which he explained the phenomenon of the emergence of the Solidarity Group in 2011.

When the great Comrade Kim Jong Il died, many Russians simply could not imagine why the people could mourn their leader so much. And it is not surprising: since the time of perestroika, human values have been replaced by “Western values”. But we decided to address the emerging issue not to the bourgeois media, but to the Koreans themselves - and this is how our movement was born.

I want to declare that the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il will be in the hearts of every person who strives to fight for the independence of his country, for the preservation of the culture of his nation, for the benefit of the socialist movement.

Comrade Yegor Mikhailov expressed his solidarity with the previous speakers and said the following.

Time, unfortunately, is too fleeting - it is hard to imagine that we have gathered on the occasion of the anniversary of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il for the 11th time.

Comrade Kim Jong Il took over the leadership in those difficult days when the indestructible Soviet Union collapsed, and the renegades of socialism who came to power in the once "communist" countries turned their backs on their comrades. But despite any difficulties, despite the difficult geopolitical situation and the imperialist intrigues of the United States, which tried to take advantage of the situation to strangle Korea, he was able not only to save the DPRK, but also to increase its potential. We remember him not only as an outstanding theoretician and politician, but also as a comprehensively developed person, as an exemplary revolutionary business executive of the early 21st century.

I am sure that the joint work of the activists of the Lenin Komsomol, the DPRK Solidarity Group and other patriotic figures will preserve the memory of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il in the generations of our countries.

Then the reports “Relations Between the DPRK and Iran During the Period of Kim Jong Il's Leadership” were presented, authored by Comrade Vladislav Karlov and "System of Secondary Education in DPRK Under Leadership of Kim Jong Il" by Comrade Vladislav Yarnykh.

Comrade Gleb Targonsky gave a scientific lecture on the theme "Kim Jong Il and Cinematography of the DPRK". He spoke about Comrade Kim Jong Il's contribution not only to the film industry of the DPRK, but also to the development of world cinema.

In turn, Comrade Rina Turkova presented the report "Philosophy of Kim Jong Il's Life Path".

Comrade Roman Kononenko closed the full-time part of the round table by expressing deep respect for the person of Kim Jong Il on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. He said:

Many of us admired in childhood watching the news on TV, seeing how a small country with its outstanding Leader and inflexible people can resist the aggression of the entire imperialist world.

Korea, under the leadership of great Сomrade Kim Jong Il, has always been mobilized and achieved colossal successes.

Although Comrade Kim Jong Il has left us, in fact he is always with us - his ideas always guide us. They show an example of perseverance of will and character.

An important fact is that Comrade Kim Jong Il died when he was in charge of local leadership. In my opinion, there cannot be a more telling example of a truly popular politician.

Then telegrams were read and video messages were presented.

Comrade Daria Kadkina said:

The memory of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il is truly immortal. She survived global cataclysms, wars, and, no matter how sad it may sound, she will outlive us too.

Studying the works of respected Comrade Kim Jong Il, as well as the notes of those people who encountered him, it sometimes seems to me that his personality in world history is not sufficiently covered. After all, even ideological opponents considered him an intellectual with a capital letter, a talented person and a true leader of the nation.

Comrade Kim Jong Il introduced the first Songun policy in the history of the world. Having deepened and developed the ideas of the founder of socialist Korea, respected Comrade Kim Il Sung, Comrade Kim Jong Il gave the KPA a decisive role in carrying out the cause of socialism and strengthened the military might of the state. Thanks to this, the Korean people were able to uphold the banner of socialism in the most unfavorable circumstances of the end of the last century, while, unfortunately, some states were unable to do so. And now we see how relevant Songun politics are in the current world situation.

To some extent, it seems to me that Comrade Kim Jong Il foresaw future trends and prepared Korea in advance. The political intuition of respected Comrade Kim Jong Il, his desire to take care of his own people, has borne the fruits that we are seeing: people's Korea is almost the only country that is prepared for all sorts of upheavals, and nothing can destroy this monolith.

Pathetic attempts to undermine the national unity of the DPRK will only turn into death for those who are trying to destroy it.

Then there was a report by an activist of the DPRK ISG from Germany.

It is now almost eleven years since our world lost a brave soldier. He was one of the strongest and most intelligent personalities the world has ever seen, Comrade Kim Jong Il. He more than matched the life's work of Comrade Kim Il Sung and did everything to ensure that the Korean people retained their dignity and sovereignty. The beloved and respected General always held up his shield and sword and defended the Korean people from their enemies, no matter how powerful those enemies were. Only through his Juche idea and Songun policy was this possible. Few leaders in world history have had the courage to stand up to US imperialism and globalism against all odds. For this, the Great Marshal deserves all our respect forever. That is why it is so important to study the works of Comrade Kim Jong Il so that all the peoples of the world can learn from the great leader to attain true sovereignty. 

As the German Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG, we mourn the loss of the beloved Führer. At the same time, we are more than happy that Heaven has given us the great General so that we can take an example from him. 

Long live the thoughts of the Eternal Leader of Juche Korea!

On November 26, an online meeting of the Chinese Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG was held in PRC on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the death of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.

The meeting was attended by members of the Chinese Executive Committee and activists of our organization.

Li Jizheng, Head of the Chinese Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG, presided over the meeting.

The immortal revolutionary hymns "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il" were played. The online meeting of the Chinese Executive Committee was declared open.

As Vice Chairman of the DPRK ISG and Permanent Representative of the Group in the PRC, Comrade Li Jizheng greeted all members of the Executive Committee and activists of the Group.

He read out a commemorative article written by a Chinese student who has studied and worked in the DPRK for many years. Comrade Li Jizheng remarked:

The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il is respected not only by the young people of the DPRK, but also by young people from all over the world. This article reflects the respect and memory of the Chinese youth for Comrade Kim Jong Il and their love for the Korean people. It also inspires us to contribute to the friendly exchange between the young people of China and the DPRK.

Then Comrade Li Yuege, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Executive Committee of the DPRK ISG, delivered a speech.

Comrade Li Yuege noted that the death of Kim Jong Il, Great Leader of the DPRK, is an irretrievable loss of the cause of socialism in the DPRK and the international communist movement. But it is good that the respected Leader Kim Jong Un is reliably continuing the great work of his father and leading the Korean people to a new victory.

Then the activists of our organization also exchanged views.

At the end of the meeting, the documentary "Great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il is immortal" was shown.

As a result of the round table, a telegram was drawn up to the President of the State Affairs of the DPRK.
