On February 17, a meeting of senior officials of the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK IGS) was held at the Pyongyang Koryo Restaurant. This meeting was held as part of the 6th Organizational Conference and was timed to coincide with Day of the Shining Star (82nd anniversary of the birth of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il).

Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG, led the meeting.

The meeting was attended by comrades Viktor Petrov (Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Committee and Director of the 1st Department of People's Diplomacy of the DPRK ISG, Chairman of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK), Tim Trendelkamp (Member of the Coordination Committee and the European Executive Committee), Haukur Hauksson (Head of the Temporary Icelandic Executive Committee) and Anna Zorich (activist of the Friendship Club with the DPRK and Secretary of the Russian Executive Committee).

A number of issues were on the agenda, including a discussion about the merits of the great Kim Jong Il, the formation of the “3rd Information and Analytical Department”, “4th Ideological Department” and “5th Business and Strategic Planning Department”, the formation of the Icelandic Executive Committee, as well as a revision of the foreign policy of our organization in accordance with the decisions of the December Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the WPK.

During the discussion of the organizational issue, it was confirmed that our organization traces its history back to April 4, 1993, the date of the formation of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK. Thus, a course has been set for the significant celebration of the organization’s 31st anniversary this year.
