The enlarged meeting of the 21st Political Bureau of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the office building of the Party Central Committee on November 29.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the WPK, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, was present at the meeting.

Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.

Present there as observers were leading officials of major departments of the Party Central Committee, members of the Party Congress preparatory committee and other relevant personnel.

Upon the authorization of the Party Central Committee, the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un presided over the meeting.

The meeting discussed, considered and decided on major agenda items such as the issue on hearing how the Eighth Congress of the WPK is being prepared and taking relevant measures, the issue on reorganizing a department concerned of the Party Central Committee to strengthen the Party ideological work, more thoroughly establish the leadership system of the Party at the organs and intensify the political guidance and party guidance and important issues for improving the party guidance over the economic work and carrying out the immediate economic tasks.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK heard the report of the Preparatory Committee for the Eighth Party Congress on the preparations of the Party Congress including the party meetings for summing up the work of the leadership organs of the party organizations at all levels and their elections and for the election of delegates to the Party Congress, the preparation of documents for the Party Congress and the preparations for political and cultural events to be held before and after the Party Congress, pointed out some shortcomings and major tasks of the Preparatory Committee, and presented relevant directions to the issues raised by the Preparatory Committee.

In order to improve and strengthen the Party ideological work in keeping with the demand of the developing revolution the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK deliberated on the issues concerned and approved the issue of organizational structure.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK seriously criticized the economic guidance organs which are not guiding their sectors scientifically in line with the subjective and objective surroundings and conditions and overcoming the subjectivity and formalism. And it stressed the need to thoroughly ensure the scientific accuracy in the operation and command for implementing the economic policy of the Party and display unbounded devotion and responsibility.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK discussed measures on the important issues for implementing this year's immediate economic tasks and adopted major decisions with unanimous approval.
