Oath-taking Meetings Held in Cities, Provinces

Oath-taking meetings of Pyongyang City, North Phyongan, South and North Hwanghae and Jagang provinces and Nampho City took place on Friday to respond to the appeal of the working people in Kangwon Province.

Present there were officials, working people, youth and students of party and power organs, working people's organizations, institutions, industrial establishments, farms and universities in the cities and provinces.

The appeal was read out at the meetings to be followed by speeches.

Speakers said that all the officials and working people have turned out as one in the all-people death-defying campaign true to the independent revolutionary line and the strategy of self-reliance set forth at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the First Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

They said that scientists and technicians should make contributions to reenergizing the overall economy and developing the hi-tech industries by creatively introducing everything advanced, true to the Party's intention of keeping their feet firmly planted on their land and looking out over the world.

They noted that all the activities of the people's power organs should be thoroughly directed and subordinated to safeguarding and realizing the people's demands and interests and faithfully serving them, as intended by the Party to thoroughly applying the people-first principle in all aspects of state activities and social life.

They called upon officials, party members and other working people to make a new development in socialist construction and thus fully demonstrate once again the might of our state which has won only victories by its own efforts, bearing in mind the faith that they will surely emerge victorious as they are led by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Then there took place mass demonstrations.

The demonstrators marched through plazas and streets, chanting revolutionary and militant slogans.
