The Respected Comrade KIM JONG UN Visits the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and Pays Tribute on the Occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong on July 26 on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Leading cadres of the Party, government and armed forces organs, including members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Party Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Cabinet, commissions, ministries and central agencies, and commanding officers of the Korean People's Army took part in the visit.

An honour guard of the Korean People's Army was lined up at the cemetery.

The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, a floral tribute bearing the respected name of Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid before the wreath-laying stand.

Floral tributes were laid in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Together with all the participants, Comrade Kim Jong Un observed a moment of silence in memory of the revolutionary martyrs who dedicated their precious lives to the sacred cause for the country's independence and sovereignty, and the peace and happiness of the people.

A march-past of the honour guard of the Korean People's Army took place.

Harbouring a reverent heart for the first-generation revolutionaries who, following the Great Leader, braved the anti-Japanese bloody ten-thousand-ri and the war flames of ten-thousand-ri and created and glorified the tradition and history of one hundred victories in a hundred battles, Comrade Kim Jong Un ascended the top of Jujak Peak and laid a bouquet before the busts of Comrades Kim Chaek, Kang Kon and Choe Hyon, who made outstanding contributions to the victory in the war.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the absolute loyalty to the Leader cherished by the fighters, their death-defying spirit of implementing revolutionary tasks and their bold fighting spirit that knew no impossibility were sublimated into the ideological and spiritual traits of the defenders of the fatherland in the 1950s, and this was the fundamental basis that made the victorious generation emerge as the most heroic generation of our Republic and the paragon of the indomitable Korean people.

Comrade Kim Jong Un affirmed that on the forward journey of our sacred cause by great pioneering and succession, the glory of July 27 will be steadfastly carried forward as an ever-greater and continuous great victory, and our fatherland, where the patriotic souls of the forebears live on, will endlessly prosper as a powerful socialist country.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed his respects and wished that the revolutionary martyrs, who created the noble revolutionary spirit and fighting traditions to be handed down to posterity and laid the eternal cornerstone for the prosperity and revival of the fatherland, would live forever as the shining example of life and struggle and the pillar of firm faith for all the succeeding generations.

The entire people and the service personnel of the People's Army across the country, who are significantly celebrating July 27, the symbol of the heroism and invincibility of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, are paying noble tribute to the honoured first defenders of our state and the creators of the precious victorious traditions who shine as golden stars of eternal life together with the honour of great victory.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the Cemetery of the Fallen Fighters of the Fatherland Liberation War on July 26 on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the victory.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gladly met war veterans and warmly wished them good health and longevity.

Leading cadres of the Party, government and armed forces organs, including members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, war veterans, wartime merited persons, bereaved families of the fallen fighters, students of revolutionary schools and Pyongyang citizens took part in the visit.

An honour guard of the Korean People's Army was lined up before the cemetery of the fallen fighters.

Wishing the eternal life of the martyrs who, at the first outset of state building, solemnly engraved the first page of the defence of the fatherland while raising the prestige of heroic Korea with their precious blood, Comrade Kim Jong Un laid a bouquet before the memorial “Soul of Heroes” and paid tribute.

Volleys of guns were fired in memory of the fallen fighters of the Fatherland Liberation War.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that although a long time has passed since the day the war flames ceased, the great victory achieved by the newly-established Korea in its cradle stage—a fierce battle against the odds against the US imperialist chieftain and its vassal forces—in which it death-defendingly safeguarded not only the dignity and sovereignty of the state but also world peace and security, shines as the most wondrous triumph and the immortal heroic epic that cannot be found in any chapter of the history of human wars.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed that the miracle of July 27, won by the ordinary army and people of this land with ardent love and indomitable might, should become a noble ideological and spiritual asset and the inexhaustible potential of our revolution that must be thoroughly carried forward without the slightest discolouration as generations change and the gains of the revolution increase on the long road of building a powerful country.

Comrade Kim Jong Un affirmed that when we forever remember the precious spirit of self-esteem, the matchless firmness and the noble spirit of sacrifice of the victorious generation who pioneered the heroic history of the Republic with blood, and remain faithful to their will and intention, our cause of national prosperity and military strength will triumph continuously.

The participants laid bouquets before the graves of the martyrs, carrying the fervent remembrance of the shining names and figures that will never be covered by the moss of time, and the wish for eternal life of the heroic lives.

Fireworks exploded in the July sky as if an eruption of tribute to the immortal legendary feats of the known and unknown participants in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The heroic feats and immortal exploits of the participants in the Fatherland Liberation War, recorded in brilliant gold letters in the revolutionary history of our people, will be handed down to posterity for all ages.

Comrade Kim Jong Un then visited the grave of Comrade Mao Anying, which is enshrined in the Cemetery of the Chinese People's Volunteers, and laid a bouquet and paid tribute.

The noble soul and spirit of sacrifice of the fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers who helped our people's just war with blood in the most difficult and fateful years are vividly embedded in the victory our people achieved and shine as the cornerstone of DPRK-China friendship with socialism at its core.

Our people will forever remember the feats and heroic exploits of the excellent sons and daughters of the Chinese people who, fighting shoulder to shoulder with our army and people in the same trenches in an unprecedented death-defying battle to repulse imperialist aggression, generously offered their hot blood and precious youth.
