Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of the WPK Central Committee, Reaffirms the Official Position of Thoroughly Disallowing Any Possibility of Dialogue with the ROK

“We will not permit even the slightest space or room for the possibility of contact between the DPRK and the ROK to be raised, and under no circumstances will there be any occasion to face them.”

Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said this on the 2nd while receiving a work report from the Military External Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and once again made the following position clear to the Korean Central News Agency.

Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of the Party Central Committee, dismissed as “a delusion not even worth answering and a one-sided prattle” the remarks by Chung Dong-young of the ROK that an apology should be demanded from our side in connection with the so-called mine explosion incident, and his proposal to hold DPRK-ROK talks to fix the military demarcation line.

She then said: “The Democratic People's Republic of Korea does not, under any circumstances, discuss the issue of military sovereignty with the adversary state. We do not fix the boundary line by way of talks, but draw our sovereign boundary line through the thorough exercise of sovereignty, that is, through the use of strength. This is the unshakable position of the government of our Republic.”

Regarding the demand for an apology raised by the ROK, Director Kim Yo Jong commented: “It is truly a laughable matter.”

Director Kim Yo Jong said that she is not unaware that Lee Jae Myung and his close associates are now making strenuous efforts to create a space for communication between the DPRK and the ROK, and pointed out bluntly that this is the “background of the creation”, the “theme” and the “true intention” of this self-staged farce.

Director Kim Yo Jong stressed that we will not permit, under any circumstances, even the slightest space or room for the possibility of contact between the DPRK and the ROK to be raised, and that under no circumstances will there ever, ever be any occasion to face them, and drew a clear line, saying: “A face-to-face meeting with the ROK is itself a nightmare. This is the conclusion we have drawn from sufficient experience in the past period.”

In conclusion, Director Kim Yo Jong referred to the so-called corresponding measures the ROK is talking about, and affirmed: “Whatever choice they make, we are prepared for everything.”
