Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a congratulatory message from V. Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on August 15.

Dear Mr. Kim Jong Un,

I cordially congratulate you on your national holiday - Liberation Day.

We cherish the memory of the Red Army soldiers and Korean patriots who gave their lives in the struggle for the liberation of Korea.

It is important that the good traditions of friendship, forged in those harsh years, and today remain a reliable basis for the development of relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK.

I am confident that by implementing the agreements reached during our meeting in Vladivostok in 2019, we will ensure the further advancement of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.

This will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening security on the Korean Peninsula and in the Northeast Asia region as a whole.

I wish you health and success, and all the citizens of your country - happiness and prosperity.
