Recently the French internet medium Investigations et Enquêtes reposted a documentary film entitled "North Korea: The Global Threat", produced back in 2017. Posted on YouTube in 26 languages, this video recorded more than 3 million views within ten days and touched off fierce controversy in its comment section.

In fact this film had once succeeded in deceiving no small number of viewers. The machinations of its producers, who resort to the outdated methods of the Cold War era to demonize the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), pin upon it an aggressive ambition that does not exist and engage in crude anti-DPRK conspiracy propaganda, do not even shrink from the reckless outrage of likening to a mafia organization a powerful socialist state that—unlike France in particular—guarantees the people a stable life, welfare and security.

But this time the situation was different. For the timing of the film's reposting coincided with the moment when hundreds of thousands of French citizens poured into the streets in protest against the soaring cost of living and the collapse of public services. A French engineer vented his fury: "The important thing is that we have come out into the streets to tell the government to stop feeding capitalism and the rich. They are growing richer and richer, while we pay the price for the collapse of public services." In various cities of France shops are being looted and vehicles burned, and social turmoil has reached its extreme.

This time the reactions in the viewers' comments turned out to be the exact opposite of what the producers had expected. Netizens (internet users) of countries throughout the world are expressing extreme contempt for the conduct of the French media, which is heating up anti-DPRK conspiracy propaganda in order to cover up the grave crisis of its own country, driven to the brink of ruin by the intrinsic contradictions of the system.

Below are some of the YouTube comments attached to this film.

@nguoiquychauNA: The primary global threat is the United States and NATO.

@frankwolstencroft8731: Why does no one complain about Israel's nuclear capability?

@Tom-gf9do: Don't worry, we know who the good guys and the bad guys are. People are watching the true colors of the media.

@Carlean1: It's wonderful to open the comments and see that everyone has woken up; people from many different countries now know who is truly evil and who is bad—the old narrative, where one side is always the "good" one and the other is the "bad" one, has come to an end.

@furtuna28: L'occident : la menace Mondiale aurait été plus juste
Translation: It would have been far more accurate to title it "The West: The Global Threat".

Translation: A superb maneuver of capital. While the cities of France are overturned by social revolt and city halls are burning, the TV broadcasts a film about the "North Korean threat". The oligarchs are mortally afraid that the workers may grasp the root of the crisis, and so they shake the scarecrow of the East.

Translation: Even today, in 2026, the world has still not realized that the intervention of the Americans in any conflict between two factions has done nothing but worsen the situation. The American government and the Israeli government are absolute evil, worse than many other dictatorships. Find me a war that ended well because the Americans intervened.

Translation: Apart from the US, not a single country of the Americas, Africa, Oceania, Europe or Asia regards Korea as a threat. On the contrary, at least 20 countries come to mind that regard the US as a real threat. So how is this to be explained?

@demeyacouba1512: LA KOREA DU NORD NA CHANGE FAIRE UNE GUERRE A PERSONNE, JAMAIS VOLE AUTRE PEUPLE. JAMAIS KINAPE UN PRESIDENT. JAMAIS LANCE UNE BOMBE NUCLEAIR MAIS C EST EUX LES MECHANT LES MEDIA CHANGE EH
Translation: North Korea has never waged war on anyone, never stolen from another people. Never kidnapped a president. Never dropped a nuclear bomb. Yet the media make them out to be the villains.

@sareeyemanusqaame8723: REMEMBER, every western accusation is a confession. Whatever wrong they accuse others is exactly what they guilty of. Highly dishonest creatures.

The popular protest demonstrations taking place in many European countries, whatever their immediate occasion, have almost identical fundamental causes. Many European countries are now undergoing a serious socio-economic crisis. As the energy crisis generated by the outbreak of the Ukraine situation has grown even more acute owing to the aggravation of the Middle East situation, numerous enterprises are going bankrupt and the unemployed are sharply increasing. In France the unemployment rate is reaching its highest level since 2021, and the state debt has amounted to 114 percent of the gross domestic product.

Amid such a wretched reality, the clamour of the French media about the "North Korean threat" is nothing but a desperate effort to blind the eyes of the people and to conceal the intrinsic contradictions of the capitalist system.
