Israel Mad with Territorial Expansion

Israel has incessantly committed acts of aggression against neighbouring countries. In the process, it has sometimes signed ceasefire agreements under the pressure of the international community. Yet it has never once implemented them. Violating ceasefires is a chronic evil habit of Israel.

Let us take just a few facts from recent years.

In October 2025, a ceasefire was reached between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel.

The international community hoped that the ceasefire agreement would be strictly observed. But things did not turn out that way. Less than ten days after the ceasefire came into effect, on the night of October 17 of that year, the Israeli army attacked a bus carrying Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, killing 11 people including 7 children and 2 women. Two days later, it bombed and shelled targets in the southern Gaza Strip, again taking the lives of innocent people. And then it shamelessly justified this as retaliation against terrorists who had fired at them. Another ten days later, it again struck the northern Gaza Strip, raving that it had destroyed Hamas infrastructure where weapons intended for terrorist attacks against them had been stored.

Since the ceasefire agreement was concluded, more than 1 000 innocent people have lost their lives.

The Israeli warmongers have not the slightest intention of observing a ceasefire.

As soon as the ceasefire agreement was reached, Prime Minister Netanyahu, in a televised speech, declared that Israeli troops would remain in the area until Hamas was disarmed and the Gaza Strip demilitarized, and that if their goals were not achieved in an easy way, they would “achieve the goals even in a hard way.” Following him, his stooges also openly clamoured that they would resume the war.

What about the ceasefire in Lebanon?

In November 2024, Hezbollah, the Lebanese patriotic force organization, and Israel agreed to cease mutual strikes and reached a ceasefire agreement. Even then, before the ink of the ceasefire agreement was dry, Israel opened the gunfire of military attacks on Lebanon.

The very next morning after the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli army carried out a drone attack targeting a passenger car in a village in southern Lebanon.

Israel tried to justify its military action by claiming that several “suspicious persons” in the car had entered the village and violated the ceasefire, and that it had only fired warning shots around the car. But this was nothing more than a brigandish sophistry to rationalize the violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Israel, which has continuously expanded its provocative military attacks on this country in violation of the ceasefire agreement, launched an all-out armed invasion from the air, sea and land from early March this year under the pretext of completely eliminating the “threat” from Hezbollah.

The Israeli aggressor forces put up the justification of wiping out Hezbollah, but in fact, civilian facilities including residential areas and hospitals have become targets of attack, and the majority of the victims are civilians including women and children. According to data, within a little over a month, casualties in Lebanon reached as many as over 8 000, among whom children alone number several hundred. About one-fifth of the population has left their hometowns in search of a place to live.

Originally, a ceasefire means that, under certain conditions, the belligerent parties halt their combat actions.

Yet Israel talks of a ceasefire in the front while continuing to commit atrocities of slaughter behind the scenes. It then propagates that the other side first violated the ceasefire, justifying its own acts.

Israel's ceasefire farce is nothing but a camouflage to dampen the globally rising anti-Israel sentiment. Indeed, for the Israeli warmongers, whose bones are filled solely with territorial expansion ambition, a ceasefire is a nuisance.

This is precisely why ceasefires, achieved with difficulty through the efforts of the international community, are broken from the very moment they take effect.

The Worsening Ebola Virus Situation

On the 4th, the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo announced that 3 802 confirmed cases and 1 707 deaths had been recorded in connection with the rapidly spreading Ebola virus in the country.

The Director of the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention stated that it is not clear when this outbreak will reach its peak, and that nearly 80% of the newly registered confirmed cases have resulted from local transmission.

Earlier, the World Health Organization reported that the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has far exceeded the 2018–2020 pandemic and has expanded to the largest scale ever.

The virus currently in circulation is reportedly a variant virus called Bundibugyo. It is said that this virus has a fatality rate of 25–50%, and there is as yet no vaccine or cure to deal with it.

The Ebola virus disease rapidly spread to 49 areas in several provinces including North Kivu and South Kivu in a little over two months after the first patient appeared.

The World Health Organization stressed that even among medical workers, 151 infections and 44 deaths have occurred so far, showing that the infection prevention and control capacity of medical facilities still has serious shortcomings.

This infectious disease, called Ebola virus disease because it first broke out near the Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1976, has rapidly spread to central and eastern African countries at odd times, claiming countless lives.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is already experiencing its 17th Ebola outbreak this time.

When the Ebola virus disease swept the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2018–2020, 3 317 confirmed cases were recorded.

The current outbreak is recording the worst ever in terms of its spread rate, putting the international community on edge.

Experts express concern about this epidemic, saying, “It is the fastest among the Ebola epidemics we have seen so far.”

The African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention announced that the death toll from this epidemic has reached five times that of the previous period at a point less than three months since its outbreak.

When the Ebola virus disease broke out in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and other places in 2014–2016, it caused more than 28 600 infections and over 11 300 deaths. It is reported that it took about eight months for the death toll to reach 1 000 at that time.

This outbreak is mainly spreading in conflict areas with poor conditions of medical services, clean water, food, shelter and so on.

As contact tracing is difficult due to heavy population movement caused by the continuously worsening conflict and the restricted activities of medical teams, the World Health Organization warned that the actual scale of infection could be several times the official statistics, and as a result, the additional risk of transmission is growing.

The organization assessed the risk level in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as “very high” and stressed that to prevent transmission, surveillance, testing, clinical treatment, infection control, community engagement and material supply must be strengthened.

Japan's “Defence White Paper” Rejected

A spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the 5th, answered a journalist's question regarding the fact that the Japanese authorities had published a “Defence White Paper” that takes issue with China's military activities and justifies its remilitarization moves.

World Food Programme Warns That El Niño Could Worsen Food Shortage Crisis in Africa

The World Food Programme warned on the 4th that El Niño could further worsen the food shortage crisis in Africa.

Prevalence of Fraud Crimes
