Comrade Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the work in various sectors of the people's economy. Visiting the Kumsong Tractor Factory, the Premier stressed that the officials and working class should deeply cherish the great trust and expectation of the Party Central Committee which put forward the factory as a treasure factory leading the development of the country's agricultural machinery industry, and exert themselves further to attain the production goals of tractors and agricultural machinery decided by the 9th Congress of the Party. Looking round various production processes including the gear workshop, assembly workshop and standardized parts workshop, he said that the precision of parts processing should be further raised and the measuring equipment reinforced and completed, and at the same time, the efficiency and productivity of the equipment should be continuously enhanced. At the consultative meeting held on the spot, the issues of the relevant units ensuring the timely and satisfactory supply of cooperative products and materials needed for tractor production and actively developing efficient agricultural machines suited to the topographical conditions and actual situation of our country were discussed and corresponding measures were taken. Comrade Pak Thae Song learned about the farming situation at the Sosin Vegetable Farm in Ryokpho District and the Tanggok Farm in Kangnam County, and pointed out that scientific manuring and cultivation should be carried out more properly in keeping with the abnormal climatic conditions of persistent high temperature and the growth state of crops, and that the level of intensification of agricultural production should be raised by widely introducing double cropping and triple cropping methods through preceding and succeeding crops and intercropping in the agricultural sector. | |
