A report meeting marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of “Kulloja,” the organ of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, was held at the People's Palace of Culture on the 25th.

Officials of the relevant sectors, ministries and central agencies; merited officials of the editorial office of “Kulloja”; essayists; reporters and editors of the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House; and theoretical propaganda officials in Pyongyang took part in the report meeting.

Comrade Kim Song Chan, President and Chief Editor of the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House, made the commemorative report.

The reporter said that, at a time when the struggle to open a new heyday of strengthening the whole Party and comprehensive national development is being vigorously waged by upholding the programmatic tasks set forth at the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Third Workshop of Propaganda Officials of the Workers' Party of Korea and by raising the might of ideological warfare and the penetrating power of ideological work to the maximum, we are meaningfully greeting the 80th anniversary of the founding of “Kulloja,” the organ of the Party Central Committee.

He stressed that the founding on October 25, 1946, of the Party political theoretical magazine “Kulloja” was a historic event of great political significance in awakening the whole Party and all the people to the building of a Juche-type revolutionary party and a prosperous and powerful fatherland.

He said that, with the founding of the magazine “Kulloja,” our Party came to have a reliable spokesman capable of most actively explaining and propagating the truth and justice of the Leader's ideas and cause in keeping with its revolutionary character and mission, and a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon capable of thoroughly arming the masses with Party policy and organizing and mobilizing them for its implementation.

He mentioned that the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung initiated the publication of the Party's theoretical magazine, had it titled “Kulloja,” and wisely guided it so that it could satisfactorily fulfil its mission and duty.

He said that the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il not only guided the editorial plan of each issue and numerous important essays but also raised the theoretical authority of “Kulloja” to the highest level by publishing in the magazine the immortal classic works he personally wrote, and bestowed great love and benevolence on reporters and editors.

He stressed that the 80-year history of “Kulloja” is shining even more brilliantly with the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the master of ideological theory and outstanding leader.

He said that the respected General Secretary, who placed the Party political theoretical magazine in the forefront of ideological and theoretical propaganda for the realization of the cause of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, provided programmatic guidelines for improving editorial work, including establishing a policy line in theoretical propaganda work, keeping pace with the times, ensuring scientific accuracy, and correctly recognizing and thoroughly implementing new policy issues.

He mentioned that, under the wise leadership of the peerless great men, “Kulloja” has firmly defended the ideas and leadership of the Party Central Committee politically, ideologically and theoretically at every period and stage of revolutionary development and has satisfactorily fulfilled its mission.

The reporter said that today before us there stands the honourable task of upholding the grand struggle programme set forth by the Party Congress, fundamentally improving and strengthening Party ideological work so as to firmly arm officials, Party members and working people with the revolutionary ideas of the Party Central Committee, and further accelerating the all-people general march to successfully achieve the new prospective goals.

He stressed that the officials of the editorial office, essayists, reporters and editors should take the Party's Juche-oriented publishing and press ideas and theories as the fundamental guideline of their writing and editing activities and thoroughly embody them, and should ceaselessly improve the editorial content and format of the magazine.

He mentioned that they should raise a strong wind of ability competition, equip themselves with political consciousness and professional qualifications as theoretical propaganda officials, establish a style of steady and diligent study, and prepare everyone as a multi-talented capable person possessing wide knowledge and skills and high writing ability.

The reporter stressed that all officials, reporters and editors should always be aware of the position and importance of the organ of the Party Central Committee in Party ideological work, fulfil their duty as ideological guardsmen defending the ideas and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un with their pens, and truly contribute to making “Kulloja” a powerful Party political theoretical magazine.
