Kim Song, Permanent Representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations (UN), issued the following statement on the 29th.

Despite the international community's unanimous aspiration and demand to reform the UN into a genuine multilateral center where justice and fairness are realized, acts running counter to this are still being perpetrated.

Recently, during the discussion of the report of the "Special Rapporteur" on the human rights situation in Korea at the Third Committee of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the "Special Rapporteur" and the anti-Republic hostile forces including the Republic of Korea and Japan perpetrated a grave political provocation viciously defaming and slandering our state's genuine human rights protection policy and reality.

I express extreme contempt and condemn and reject in the strongest terms the repetition yet again on the sacred UN platform of the malicious practice of infringing upon the dignity and sovereignty of a sovereign state.

The main reason why the UN, which has peace, development and human rights as its core pillars, has today come to face the worst crisis of confidence and structural crisis in its 80-year history lies in the fact that the arbitrary rule and high-handedness of certain forces that abuse the UN's organs and bodies for the realization of their ulterior political purposes are being connived at.

The "Special Rapporteur" system on the human rights situation in Korea, which has persisted for over 20 years as a tool of the anti-Republic hostile policy of the US and its followers, is a typical example.

As for the "Special Rapporteur" on the human rights situation in Korea, he is a political hireling who has flown at every opportunity to the Republic of Korea, our invariable adversary, to mix and mingle with human scum and has played a frantic role as a "first-class contributor" to the anti-Republic confrontation; it is all too clear that no rational thinking or fair judgment can be expected of him.

In any country on the globe, establishing social discipline and strengthening the functions and role of law enforcement organs are regarded as essential processes for ensuring social stability and guaranteeing human rights.

The fact that the "Special Rapporteur" deliberately turned a blind eye even to the most elementary and universal lawful process of state administration and viciously slandered our state's policy of strengthening discipline and enhancing the role of law enforcement organs once again confirms his pathological repugnance toward us and his inveterate hostile viewpoint.

In particular, the hysterical unsightly behaviour of the "Special Rapporteur", who branded as an "infringement upon the right to life" our state's measure that safeguarded the people's right to life at the highest level through scientific and preemptive emergency anti-epidemic measures during the worldwide health crisis, plainly proves his identity as an utterly vicious confrontation maniac.

Today the most serious threat to the right to life comes from the war acts of the US and its followers, who unscrupulously infringe upon and violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries to realize their exclusive hegemonic ambition.

According to the law of the jungle that "might is right", state sovereignty is openly infringed upon, educational, medical and sports facilities have become targets of cutting-edge armed equipment, and extra-large anti-human slaughter wars against civilians have become commonplace.

Today's cruel reality, in which a weak country must become a victim of aggression and war, have its sovereignty and territory plundered and even its human rights ruthlessly violated, plainly shows the justice and vitality of our state's human rights protection policy, which reliably safeguards the country's security and guarantees the people the best human rights on the basis of a powerful self-defensive deterrence force.

No matter how many hundreds or thousands of times the motley crowd, including the "Special Rapporteur" on the human rights situation in Korea, stage human rights conspiracy farces to the order of the hostile forces, nothing will change, and no absurd theory or malicious words can ever cover up the true reality of human rights protection in our state, where the people are the masters of everything.

Human rights apart from national sovereignty is nothing but empty talk on paper, and for us human rights are an absolutely inviolable sacred sphere.

We will never forgive even a hair's breadth the vicious anti-Republic "human rights" conspiracy schemes of those who dream vain dreams of undermining the people-centred our-style socialist system chosen by all the Korean people, and we will responsibly safeguard the dignity of the state and the rights and interests of the people.
