Medium-Range Strategic Missile Launch Training Conducted in the Eastern Region

In the early hours of October 3, a medium-range strategic missile launch training was conducted in the eastern region of our country toward the East Sea of Korea.

The training was conducted as part of the work to assess the reliability, effectiveness and mobility of our war deterrence while at the same time perfecting the firepower service capability of the missile troops who handle the hypersonic strategic weapon system.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, observed the launch training on the spot.

Comrade Kim Jong Sik, First Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Comrade Jang Chang Ha, Director of the Missile General Bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, observed the training.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that establishing a powerful and reliable nuclear deterrence through continuous verification of the important components of war deterrence, improvement of their performance and mastery of their operational capability, and demonstrating that our army's counterstrike means are in a state of constant mobilization readiness, are very important measures and responsible activities for guaranteeing national security, and said as follows:

“Through today's launch training, the strategic missile troops fully displayed their highly skilled professional qualifications in operating the important offensive weapon system and their counterstrike readiness to be mobilized at any moment, and provided confidence in our deterrence.

I highly appreciate the commanders and soldiers of the missile units who participated in the training.

We must continue without interruption the responsible efforts to ceaselessly and repeatedly make the adversaries aware of the reliability and lethality of our strategic offensive means.

This is one form of exercising deterrence.

As I have stated transparently each time, there is nothing to hide: these activities of ours are clearly aimed at further advancing the country's nuclear war deterrence.

That is indispensable for safeguarding the security and stability of the state in today's geopolitical environment. There can be no change in this view and line of ours.

We must control the various threats with a powerful deterrence and ensure a safer environment for our state-building and activities.”

The missile used in the training was launched in the northeast direction and hit the designated target point at latitude 43°36′28.04″ and longitude 138°00′47.02″, at a distance of 1,000 km on the East Sea of Korea.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed his expectation and conviction that all the missile forces would remain faithful to the mission of safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the Republic in a responsible combat duty posture.

In the early hours of today, a strategic weapon launch training was conducted toward the East Sea of our country.

A medium-range strategic missile was used in the training.

The head of state personally observed the training of the firepower sub-unit that is charged with a special mission.

The ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff, which detected the training we conducted today, announced that the missile flew more than 700 km, while the Japanese Defense Ministry announced about 680 km.

Interesting figures.

We have already witnessed similar cases four times, and have concluded that the superiority of the special flight method of the missiles we possess has been verified in reality.

Of course, the detection data announced by the enemies should not be believed wholesale and satisfied with, but such figures allow one to gauge the limitations of the enemies' detection capability and the special nature of our missiles.

Each time the wave-like flight trajectory method was applied, the enemies lost the target after the first boost point.

If one draws an extension of the trajectory at the descent stage, one obtains a figure comparatively similar to the range figure announced by the enemies.

The enemies each time offer the lame excuse that their detection capability is limited by the curvature of the Earth, but in fact this is proof of the perfection of our missile capability, and in itself becomes the most scientific “acceptance indicator” confirming the might and reliability of our weapon system.

One must know the speed of the missile.

And it would be worth recalling our statements that it has the capability to change its flight trajectory at low altitude and that artificial intelligence has been introduced.

In other words, this means that there is in fact no way to avoid this strike.

The representatives of the Missile General Bureau reported to the head of state that, with recently introduced technology, at least four flight trajectory methods can be set according to purpose and target.

The head of state expressed the conviction that no other country in the world can possess such technology for at least several years.
