The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), had a meaningful commemorative photo taken on October 27 with participants in the Third Company Commanders' Meeting of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Comrade Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the WPK, accompanied him.

Comrade Kim Song Gi, Minister of National Defence of the DPRK; Comrade Ri Yong Gil, Chief of the General Staff of the KPA; Comrade Yu Kwang U, first deputy director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA; commanders of the service branches; and commanders of large combined units took part.

All the participants raised stormy cheers of enthusiasm in reverence for the great iron-willed commander, who has illuminated the brilliant path for staunchly guaranteeing the absolute might and eternal certain victory of the Republic's armed forces through his outstanding military construction ideas and energetic leadership, has placed company commanders at the forefront, and has repeatedly bestowed upon them sky-high trust and fiery love.

Comrade Kim Jong Un sent encouraging greetings to the participants, who powerfully demonstrated the steadfast revolutionary spirit and combat mettle of the new-generation commanding personnel who will shoulder the future of our army through this meeting, which has become a historic occasion for accelerating new innovations and simultaneous development throughout the army.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the might of the KPA, which is striking the world today, is because all companies—the base and cornerstone that uphold it—are firm and are filled with inexhaustible politico-ideological power and matchless combat strength that no cutting-edge weapons and equipment can rival; he once again highly appreciated the distinguished exploits of the company commanders, who are responsible for the living bases of the soldier masses and the basic combat units of our armed forces and who, with ardent loyalty, revolutionary service spirit, and devoted efforts, have become the driving force in creating numerous military merits and feats.

Comrade Kim Jong Un noted that the unique role of company commanders in the building of a powerful army, which we have set as our goal, is truly weighty and cannot be defined by their rank in the order of commanders or by the stars of a commander; he stressed that the determination and will of the Party Central are firm to trust precisely in the company commanders and boldly carry out the grand historic task of strengthening the entire army along with strengthening companies and pressing ahead with the military revolution of the new era.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the first revolutionary task of company commanders is to complete the combat readiness of subunits for maintaining full combat posture, and that the way to do this is the unremitting and intensive training revolution; he stated that they should prove their loyalty to the Party and the revolution, the country and the people, and their organizational and commanding ability through the proud achievement of turning their companies into one-against-a-hundred mighty army ranks overflowing with steadfast revolutionary conviction, patriotic spirit, and matchless heroic mettle and possessing invincible combat strength.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that, thanks to company commanders who are thoroughly revolutionary, passionate, and solid, the foundation of our armed forces will become stronger and the cause of a powerful army will advance endlessly; he expressed expectation and conviction that all the participants in the meeting would struggle in the work for strengthening companies and would certainly bring successful results, and he had a meaningful commemorative photo taken with them.

The participants in the Third Company Commanders' Meeting of the KPA thoroughly carried through the Party Central's original line of prioritizing companies and strengthening companies, and resolved with ironclad determination to repay Comrade Kim Jong Un's sea-like trust and love through the sacred practical struggle of displaying the KPA's distinctive bravery and ever-victorious, invincible traditions and defending the endless prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people in every way.
